I can take poop, pee, vomit, snot, but I cannot deal with any time of injury or illnes relating to the eyes! Just grosses me out, it's all I can do to put eyedrops in someone! lol

That's one of the things I liked about NICU. Yes, I cleaned up poop etc. -- but it was little poop, not big poop.
I think some of the poop I have cleaned from my little ones are bigger than the kids themselves! Then again, I have messes off my adults that are bigger than my babies!

You left out pus and wound care
do you know body fluids don't bother me but dentures goes through me every time :chair:
NOTHING bothers me except dentures! I don't know why either.
Oh, I have to take it back........once I saw urine so purulent in a foley tube that it completely blocked the foley. It looked like a long fat white worm in the foley tubing. I called in other nurses to look at it and none of them had seen anything like it either. Gross.

I haven't cleaned poop for 5 years now - I do telephone triage, so I don't do phlegm, vomit or any other bodily excretion for that matter - however I am a time served pooper scooper - 20 years plus in fact! I personally can't stand phlegm - any chest secretion is enough to make my stomach turn. A perfumed bar of soap in a pocket passed briefly under my nose helps me cope with poop smells though. Learned that one whilst pregnant 20 years ago...

in my recent or rotation i thought i would have a temporary reprieve from the poop - until we got a pt with a perforated bowel that had been stewing for several days - yuk! :barf02:this was the first time i have ever been nauseous from something that come out of another person!
poop - it's everywhere!

Pee and Poop will be the least of your worries as far as unpleasant thing to do. Yes you will clean it up. It is part of providing dignity to the patient.
Imagine how horrible it would be for you if you had an messed yourself and were unable to clean yourself. You would want someone sensitive and compassionate to help you recover your dignity.
You might be surprised that MDs have been known to clean up poop as well.
At least as a hit man you can walk away and let someone else clean the mess up.
