Can anyone tell me when to expect to get EAD once you file AOS. I already have visascreen.
What about not using the EAD say like until half a year has passed? Would it still be valid providing the employer does not mind?
EADs only good for one year..........in a normal situation, you have the green card in hand before the EAD expires. What usually holds up things is that the nurse never completed the English exams.......and then the EAD is not renewed.
USCIS is now actually asking for documentation of the previous EADs to see if this was the case. Many times, nurses just left that employer and went to another and restarted the process, illegal, but they did it. Now immigration is clamping down on it.

As far as not starting for the first six months, it would be strictly up to the employer; remember that there is no guarantee that the job that you want woudl still be there........employers hire based on what their needs are then, if going the AOS route. That is why there are many that do not want the CP processing, as they need, or want, to have the nurse begin much sooner than that.
Congrats... When did you apply for it? I received my biometrics appointment today and I applied for AOS last Oct. 23. How long did you wait for your EAD?
We applied Oct 25, got Biometric appointments on Nov 18th, my husband was mailed on Dec 6th, mines was mailed on December 20th, wishing you the very best
Same to you as well. When do you start the new job?
Some time in January, I have to take pharmacology exam first, I did one for a hospital already, but they want to place me in the ER, I ask for med-surgs, so I have to try another one, thanks. I will try NYM one day this week, my girlfriend told me they have 3 12hrs shift and good bennefits, so am going to try them, thanks.

You got your petitioning done by a specific facility, please be aware that your AOS process will get cancelled if you do not work for them. You are still in the temporary status and please be aware that if you change facilities right now, you will be in a real pickle. AOS cannot be filed currently, not being accepted by immigration, only the I-140. And your EAD will be cancelled.............
