You should get it after a month but you can get an interim after 90 days if not yet approved.

Hey jonRNMD! You got your EAD already - that's good! Havent got mine yet.How about your wife-was she able to get hers too? Have you started working already? Are you done with your fingerprinting? Mine is taking long. How do you get informed about EAD thru your lawyer or thru mail.
thanks

my lawyer is filing my petition papers end of this month .... i am being petioned by a hospital here in LA... my question is, what if the retrogression takes effect during hte process... will i still be elligible to get EAD evern no green card is available? please reply to this message... thanks so much
anyone who can answer my question abovve???
As far as I know, if you have applied or appliying before the retrogession u will get EAD. but u will get GREEN CARD only after the visa for schedule A is current.
THANKS SO MUCH...

Not necessarily do, you get the EAD when the petition has been accepted. And if the petition is submitted before the 60 days are up, it will be denied. USCIS is paying close attention to the dates on the petitions right now, especially from nurses that will be affected by the retrogression.
For an petition to be submitted now, you would have to have been in the US since before the end of July, and most attorneys normally recommend 90 days for filing. The I-140 can always be denied and have seen more and more that have been denied lately, for what ever reason.

AOS: Adjustment of Stay, what you file to change your immigrant status when you are already in the US.
EAD: Employment Authorization Document: your permit to work while waiting for green card processing.
