hey, i took my teas about 2 weeks ago and came out with a combined score of 85%. 100 on the reading, 84 math, 44 science, 87 english. i was surprised i didnt score 90 and up on the math and english. english was trickier than i thought mainly the sentence structure got me. the science was tough since i used the ati study guide and they just dont cover enough physics, geology, chemistry, and some of the diagrams on the exam they provided were very ambiguous.
i am retaking the exam in 2 weeks and would like to be ready for it this time.
thanks
hey everyone, well i retook the teas this friday 14aug2009 and i am elated to say the least. yes, i just got enough of what i need to apply for the program and have a good shot now. the first time i scored 86 overall, but got around 50 on the science this time i scored 86 overal again, but my science was around 83. the reason my percent went down even though my science went up is because i didnt do as well on the other subjects as i did the first time. like reading went from 100 to 92 and so forth. anyway, i got A in reading, B in math/science/english so again i am thrilled to death. to be honest when i was taking the test it was much harder the 2nd time and before i hit ok after the final subject i thought for sure i was not going to improve on my scores, but after i tallied up everything i got just enough to send in my application with confidence. so if anyone got any questions feel free to throw them my way and i will gladly pass on what i can remember.
I do have the mcgraw hill download and I know alot of people recommended it. So I think I will try that one thanks. I did take the test once and did very well except for the science. Such random questions. For my school, you need 60% in all areas to even be looked at and then they take your raw score from the science and the math. How did the first test compare to the second one?
to be honest, i thought the first exam i took was so much easier; its just i bombed the science portion because ati just didnt cover all the areas. for me the program where i am applying, scores the tease on points per category so you get 4 points for A, 3 for B, 2 for C, and i guess 1 for attempting. i was told i would need at least 13 out of 16 points from the teas to have a really good shot at getting in. if all goes well i hope to be in the spring program this upcoming year.
I am applying for the spring also. We have to apply before October 15 so I think I am going to take the TEAS the second week in September. We can only take the test twice per application cycle so I have to pass this time. Hopefully all goes well. Good luck to you and thanks for the help. Keep us posted.
for rock types they will ask you a scenario like you are walking along a mountainous range and you come across a rock and you pick it up and you notice something about it. so what type of rock is this. so you if you know how each type looks like if split in half, where each type can be found, and under what conditions you will get the answer correct. there is only 3 types of rocks so once you get them down you will probably never forget it come test time.

No gas laws questions, a few about particles and maybe 2 more about electron shells.
