Gradiated compression knee hi's. I broke my ankle in three places in November and I have to wear them to keep the ankle stable and to keep the swelling under control. I've tried lot's of brands. In fact, I was wearing Nursemates when I broke the ankle. I didn't like the Nursemates because I found them tight across the calf. They cut off my circulation.
I now buy Jobst opaque knee hi's. They aren't like the Jobst that we use in the hospital and they certainly are not TEDs. They are like regular hose only stronger, better, and more expensive. I was able to have my doctor prescribe them so that they are covered under my insurance. Jobst also makes trouser socks and sports socks that are gradiated compression socks. They are all wonderful and I wouldn't go a day at work without them.

Thank you!
I've always worn support hose when I've worked shifts on floors -- I like the L'eggs "Active Support" pantyhose -- they are heavier weight and more support than the "Sheer Energy," and are designed for working people on their feet all day. Also, because they are heavier weight, they are harder to run, so they last longer! You can get them at the Hanes/L'eggs outlets -- more expensive than regular pantyhose, but a bargain for what they do for your legs.

I agree with you. :)
I ended up with a DVT at a very young age and had to wear 30-40 compression hose for a long time. During that time I came to love JObst hose. I now wear them EVERY time I work and I have no leg pain or new spider or varicrose veins. I wear the 30-40 compression in Jobst and it doesnt feel like too much. Anything lower in compression doesnt feel like enough. These hose feel nice on and dont look too bad, however I do have problems with static cling from time to time.

After the twelve-hour shifts my legs are hurting. I want to purchase some good support hose. Any suggestions? Anyone else feel the need to wear them?
Thanks in advance!
