... at me???

Because I just have, I just spent the last four hours or so in the library trying to get some information on the care for a patient with lung cancer, and the symptom management used for breathlessness. why is this funny, you may be asking?

...I just realised that after two hours of finding no results on US journals or websites, that the Americans spell dyspnoea, without the 'o'. Effectively I was looking for a word that doesn't exisit!

Well I think it is funny, it is either that or sit and cry at my own stupidity:rolleyes:

So anywho, I am going back to the old faithful of searching Nursing Standard, I have now decided that despite what my supervisor says I don't really need any American articles!

I am sure I'll have changed my mind before submitting my essays, but I had to tell someone about yet another blonde moment

that is usually one of my tripups also. I also have to try and remember that they spell a few words different than us and miss letters.

Always best to laugh at one self than others laugh at you I think.

ohhhhh whisper............its not your fault the americans can't spell!!!!

Karen:roll :kiss

don't feel bad--you'll never misspell dyspnea OR dyspnoea again!

Heard a good one recently, if it wasn't for the French (referring to Lafayette in our Revolutionary War), Americans would be speaking English!

If you really want an experience, check out Texas, Mississippi or the Bronx (in New York City) and attempt to understand the locals.

And my gosh, quit calling yourself stupid! Not possible to have gotten where you are if you were!!
