Anyone waiting to get into Moraine Valley's nursing program for Fall 2010?

Published

Hi,

I just applied for the March 15th deadline at Moraine Valley Community College and was wondering if anyone else is on pins and needles like I am? I just decided about 5 months ago to apply, so I hurried up and became a CNA (I took a 3 week class), took my pre-reqs, but I only had time to take the TEAS test once :crying2: Overall I got a 94, but since MVCC only cares about science and math I got an 82%. Did anyone else calculate their scores? If so, do you mind sharing it? I think I am right on the borderline where it can go either way. I wish I had a higher score, but unfortuantely I do not. I was just curious...

Nevermind....I guess an 82 was good enough because I GOT ACCEPTED!!!:lol2:

Congratulations!! All that worrying for nothing, huh? So, you applied by March 15th and received an acceptance letter by March 26th?

That was fast!!! At the CCC's the deadline was by March 15th and applicants will not be notified of acceptance until the end of April, 2010. Best wishes in NS.

Shell,

Where did you take a 3 week CNA course? I've been looking for a quick course so that I get my paperwork in.

I took it over Christmas break at Health Restoration Academy of Medical Arts on 95th Street, just a little west of Pulaski. (Right by Target) It was a 3 week program designed for Christmas break, but there might be other accelerated programs that she offers. I'd call anyway.

Shell,

Thanks so much! I will call and check it out.

Hey Shell4. I had a ? questions about the MV nursing program..do u love it!? I am new to moraine after 8 yrs. I already have an associates degree, so some classes transferred in. Now its time to go back for what I really want to do-be a nurse. Do u have recommendations? I am taking psy now, I am applying to the program in March 2011 for the Fall 2011. I have 3 more generals to take-A/P I and II, and microbiology. What did u complete prior to applying for Nursing? O im so nervous I really want to start in the fall. Thanks a lot!!

Hi everyone!

I am moving to Chicago from Cincinnati this week. I want to get into the Fall 2011 program as well :)

I really would love to hear from all of you your opinion on MVCC too. I have been to Palos Hills before I have friends there, the campus seems to be peaceful enough compared to downtown lol.

I am excited, I truly loved the area so I can't wait to move. Anyone know if I took the A&P online through Lewis & Clark if MVC would accept? Any recommendations on where I could take a CNA class when I get there and a rough estimate? Here I know they run close to $600. Also does MVC accept Red Cross CPR? I have it, but I have noticed some colleges in Cinci won't accept it, they only accepted AHA-BLS CPR.

Thanks a bunch!
