Anyone use Micro Preemie Pampers?

They have new Swaddlers for micro preemies and I'd love to get them for our unit. I hate the Wee Pees. The tape sticks to their skin or not at all. Any feedback?

We just got Annas preemie diapers and we all think they are sooo much better then the wee pees and pampers. They are really for the tiny ones, don't stick to their skin, and so much cheaper. I know of a few other hospitals using them and they wont go back. Hope this helps!

Not sure we have the Pamper Micro Preemies, we have regular Preemie Pampers and the XS Preemie Pampers, is this what you are referring to? The XS Pampers look like a mini pad with tabs. We also have 3 sizes of Wee Pees. I am not a fan of the Wee Pees because I think the tape doesn't stick well, on the tiny babies it is hard to velcro down both tabs, I usually do one low and the other high because if I do them across each other the top one won't stick, I have actually used a piece of tape to hold the tapes down. We also use Huggies NB. I didn't realize everyone didn't have the wide variety of diapers we do.

Anyone think it's odd that Loves NICU dug up this over 4 year old thread to tell us how great Anna's diapers are??

That's what I was thinking. I was just thinking the Pampers aren't all that new...then I looked at the date of the original post. If the previous poster is so impressed with the Brand X micro preemie diapers why not just start a new thread asking if anyone else is using them.

Addressing the original post, we use the Pampers and they are great. The only problem I have with them is catching the velcro fasteners on the bedding as I am pulling the diaper out from under the baby. I usually just fold the "sticky" side of the velcro into the tab but sometimes it comes unfolded in the process.

We use the micro preemie pampers and I love them. I have never used the other kind, but they do not sound all that great. I have to agree with nell in all of the points that they took to their boss, these are many of the great things that I have seen from their use.

I don't know if what we use are Swaddlers, but they are Pampers brand .... it's all I've ever seen for us to use on the micropreemies. They don't have any tape at all, they have tabs that you pull over and it just sorta lightly sticks to the front of the diaper.

Ok I was wondering why people were talking about these like they're new, LOL. Nothing like responding to a 4 year old thread

I didn't look at the dates, LOL. I was shocked that my unit actually had something nobody else did, should have led me to do more investigation, LOL.

I find that the velcro sticks to itself and/or the linen. I kinda liked the wee-pees better.

We were told at work a few weeks ago that CMS (Children's Medical Services) no longer makes wee-pee's. We've been mislead before when products were not available so I wouldn't take that as gospel unless others are hearing that too. I believe that "National Backorder" at our hospital is code for "somebody forgot to order". We did recently get some new small diapers but I was working with the >4lb group that week so I didn't get a look at them to see what brand.

You are right - they are no longer making them. Leaves less of a choice for preemie diapers. I just became a member in June. A friend said she was a member of this site and was commenting that as she was hearing from people around the country that people are having a hard time finding a good diaper. I guess my lack of computer knowledge got some feathers ruffled when I recommed Annas preemie diapers. My last post was to help others looking for a good diaper. Several friends of mine from different hospitals are using them and love them.

2 patients in our unit got cut by the tape on the wee pees, 1 became infected. Suddenly the cost of pampers was no longer an issue. Good riddance to the Wee Pee's

the wee pees were so bad, we had to put a micro pampers underneath during a diuresis. so glad we have none left!
