Let's have some fun learning. Each person should throw out 5 random facts or "things to remember" before taking your finals, HESI, NCLEX, etc.

OK I know this sounds stupid but I have a friend that gets really freaked out before big tests like finals, HESI, NCLEX, and usually we get together and a few days before I start throwing out random facts at her. On 2 different tests she said the only way she got several questions was from the random facts that I threw at her that she never would have thought of!
SOOOOO..... I thought that if yall wanted to do this we could get a thread going and try to throw out 5 random facts or "things to remember". NCLEX is coming and the more I try to review content the more I realize that I have forgotten so......here are my 5 random facts for ya:
OH and BTW these came from rationales in Kaplan or Saunders no made up stuff:
1️⃣ A kid with Hepatitis A can return to school 1 week within the onset of jaundice.
2️⃣ After a patient has dialysis they may have a slight fever...this is normal due to the fact that the dialysis solution is warmed by the machine.
3️⃣ Hyperkalemia presents on an EKG as tall peaked T-waves
4️⃣ The antidote for Mag Sulfate toxicity is ---Calcium Gluconate
5️⃣ Impetigo is a CONTAGEOUS skin disorder and the person needs to wash ALL linens and dishes seperate from the family. They also need to wash their hands frequently and avoid contact.
Oh, ohh, one more...
? Vasopressin is also known as antidiuretic hormone
OK your turn....
ok so i took the nclex today and let me tell you it was tough I have to admit it. there was definitely some guessing involved. When the test didn't shut off in 75 questions, i was kind of nervous. Then finally after two hours it shut off in 89 questions. I dont know I how did, like people have been saying I don't feel like I did all that great. But i have a gut feeling that i may have just passed. The questions after 75 questions got easier and I belive I may have gotten most of them correct. I had tons of teaching questions...about 10 SATA questions (which one my weakest points), few peads, couple OB, some psych, lots of meds (i believe i got of these correct), some infection control and safety, and none drug calculations or delegation (too bad these were my strongest points). Overall it was a tough test and i had been studying and took tons of practice questions.oh dear god i just hope i passed. I cant go through taking this test again.
good luck to anyone who is going to take this test. I hope you all the best.
hello zoomzoom2425. l start my test at 11:00. l know you will pass. good luck
Hi feliz3,My answer is D because you said the least appropriate to delegate to nursing assistant and not the most appropriate and besides the client was admitted 2 hours ago only..correct me if i'm wrong..tnx
Hi 5K_2bRN222,

Hello Feliz3:
thank you for your support. l just came back. the computer stopped between 75 to 80 questions. l was looking after 70 so l am not sure. l pray l pass. my exam was mostly prioritization questions, 2 delegation questions. 10 medications and teaching. no maths. l am not sure of the last question. l can mention the medication name because of confidentiality. something to do with a contract medium. but l pick potassium.

dear dayo,
I am glad that you feel good about your performance...remember, the test is done in such a way that you may have to guess on some of the answers for you do not know in advance what the NCLEX examiners are going to hit with when you sit to take it, so it is perfectly normal that you would not know all the answers. Best wishes, feliz3
Feliz3,Thanks for the posts you have contributed to this thread. I am here often to see what is new but have not contributed because I have not read all the pages to see what is/is not here yet. Once again, thanks for enhancing the learning experience.
Dear winsome08,
Oh, my friend, thanks so much for your kind words! When do you sit? Thanks once more, feliz3

Dear dayo,
Lucky you did not get calculations?!...good!...the last time I sat, I was hit with four calculations and two-three select all that apply (sata) type of questions. On the other hand, calculation questions are good if the student knows how to do them correctly...that's easy points for the test taker does not have to prioritize or do all kinds of schemes to figure out the right answer... calculations questions are basically solving math problems...that's what I mean by easy points. I have to practice some more on calculation problems for I do not get them right consistently every time I see this particular icon I get a headache. Well, I have to hit Saunders 4th edition...talk to you soon, dayo.
Best, feliz3

Dear zoomzoom2425,
I am so glad that you got out of the test feeling strong and in control! The test is not designed for the candidates to know everything it is on it, anyway. What is important is that you feel good about your own performance.
Best, feliz3
