You Might Be a Neuro Nurse If. . .
You can be a neuro nurse if you laugh when your patient tells you: I will put that needle into your spine!!!!!!:))

Anyone tried the PVT trick for NCLEX-RN NH?
I got my results after few days, so dont worry. Go to NH board of nursing website and click on "License verification", type your name, and if you passed it should pop out. Other way to check is http://www.nursys.com, it is online verification for free. You type your name, and you see if you are a RN!

Failed NCLEX-RN for 2nd time!!! So Sad!
hey I already have forgot the NCLEX..I am foreign nurse and I passed on second try! I am looking at this site just to see you how you guys struggle! Here it is: Saunders, you gonna memorize almost every single page!!!! All infection control you need is there, you dont have to be an epidemiology specialist! Then LaCharity plus Kaplan practice question and you should be fine. But you wont answer questions unless you dont know solid nursing material that is in Saunders. Good luck!!! You will make it!

No new grad positions in Boston hospitals
So WHY they still organize nursing job fairs if they don't hire????? Why do they spend thousands of dollars to buy a booth at hotels?? If they have no money to hire new nurses but spent so much at the hotels? For who is that business?

Failed 3 times!
Don't get depressed!!!! Get angry at yourself and trust me this helps!!!! Use my experience-I tought there is no way for me to pass it. I am foreign nurse, did it on second try. The question is, what is time interval between tests you take? Is it month? Bad! 3 months? Little bit better. You have to give yourself time and review again!! Easy, simply, with no stress and pressure.Get angry-adrenaline really helps! Review Saunders, Kaplan, LaCharity. Try to think the "puzzle way". On that exam you have to put pieces together! It is not only knowledge, it is puzzle!!! I did it. First time last year I had 190 questions and computer juzt crushed me. I gave myself a year! This time I crushed computer! 1,5 hour of sitting, 75 questions! You can do it!

No new grad positions in Boston hospitals
That "overstaffing" looks like this in Boston-"old" or "experienced" nurses have to work overtime, sometimes 60 hours because of freezing in hiring new nurses. They rather want to save money on training new nurses and paid the old ones...but they will not go for long time like this...Physically is not possible for them to work like crazy just because hospital has money but is simply stingy.

I'm now considered an older worker !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Boston College has great refresher courses for RN's.

Failed NCLEX RN, with the use of Examcram
honey with examcram and other books I went last year straight to hell and didn't pass. I was wasting my time and nobody told me. what direction to go.Yes, the material is ok and you need to know it but nclex asks about different things... Kaplan, Saunders, LaCharity and Infection control-thats will be your choice. I made nclex on second try with these books. Good luck to you!

I passed NCLEX-RN-it was my second time
hi guys.. Such a relief! Last year I took NCLEX-RN and after 184 questions computer decided that he doesn't like me anymore and sent me home...I felt bad, I had bad feelings and after few days I found out I didn't pass:crying2:. I was devastated. I am foreign educated nurse, english is my second language. I were studying a lot before my first try but didn't make it. I was the worse complainer on this site about this whole idea of NCLEX. I gave myself a year..without rush, stress. I knew that I have to sit down, cry and study even harder. I enrolled for Kaplan for international nurses. Expensive, but good. I purchased another book Saunders and Prioritization...by Linda LaCharity. Now I had about 10 nursing books. Right before exam I also enrolled for Anderson review class. It is a week of "positive brain wash" preparation for an exam but only I think available in Massachusetts. That's the "basic" material for an exam. I was going in bad direction before. I studied material that is not required on NCLEX-RN. I studied tons of medical material that nobody is asking about. The most important thing is prioritization, delegation, assignment, labs and pharm. Infection control will be your second name-if they will wake you up in the middle of the night you have to know the answer right away.Plus material from Saunders and you should be ok. Good luck to all of you. :wink2:

kaplan can be depressing
NCLEX also wants you to work harder..that's why their scores presenting to you are way beyond what exam wants from you. That makes sense-if we would be happy with 50 percent on Kaplan we would not work hard anymore before the big day.

Anyone Up For Random FACT THROWING??
hey about the question what to do first-cover the place with normal saline or check BP etc... crazy! I would first cover it, it takes seconds..then would check BP HR. Dont you think if patient would develop shock it would be very obvious?? It goes fast. If he had symptoms I would check BP but he is fine now, let's cover it!!:)

I finally PASSED
I am proud of you!!!!!!!!!!!
