Anyone taking Microbiology this fall?

I'm taking Micro, Human Dev., Swimming, Walking, and Music. Judging by all of this, it should be a somewhat easy semester! I'll be studying for the TEAS at the same time.

Yup taking Micro w/lab this fall. I start on the 27th. Last pre-req for the RN program. Already an LPN. I considered taking it in an 8 week format but after a crazy 8 week summer session of chemistry I decided to take it in 16 weeks so I can sleep. I work 40+ hours a week as well. I am also taking a Humanities class but its pretty much cake.

Purchased, well rented, books yesterday... $105! We are using the textbook: Microbiology: Intoduction by Tortora, Funke and Case; a photographic atlas and a clinical lab manual by Marshall. I skimmed through everything and I'm starting to get excited! I've heard mixed reviews about my professor so I'm hoping for the best. Did you guys purchase your books yet?

I am taking micro this fall and we are using the same books. Also taking Ethics, Developmental Psych and Spanish. Should be an interesting semester!

I'm taking A&P I and Microbio (both with labs) too! Plus Nutrition, Biomedical Ethics, and Developmental Psych I. Starting school Aug 22.
I've been advised against taking all these classes at once, so we'll see how that goes...

I'm also taking AP I and Micro.. and at our school, they body have labs.. Also taking sociology, and two english classes online.. Surprisingly, my counselor looked at my courseload and said as long as I stay focused, I'll be able to get it done. I hope we can excel with A's even with the heavy courseload.. I guess studying is going to be our sole priority this semester.. Great preparation for the nursing courseload though right? Goodluck..

Hello. Taking pre-req's in order to apply for nursing school Fall 2012. I keep seeing this microbiology that everyone has to take and well I was wondering why I don't. LOL! I know everyones school is different. I'm going to a community college in Virginia and Microbology isn't anywhere on the curriculum. What is that class about?

I'm in Virginia too and at our community college, micro is required. Which college are you at?

I'm taking Micro this fall also, along with A&P II. That's ALL I'm taking. Last prereqs before I can apply for NS. I always get so nervous when you get the email saying not to take these classes in the same semester. But they're all I've got left, and I think I can do it. I don't work, I'm going to be volunteering 4 hours a week at a hospital, I'm a SAHM. I can do this. I also start school on the 22nd, I'm VERY excited!! I just ordered my text today :-)

Microbiology was my favorite pre-nursing class. I didn't think it was that difficult, but there was definitely a lot of information. The labs are fun and really interesting, and my instructor was awesome. Just go to lecture, take comprehensive notes and pay attention in lab and you should be fine!

I'm all for any kind of study group! I was going to post any questions I ran into on here anyways to see what others thought!

Also, I've begun listening to the micro notes offered on itunes for the tortora, funke and case book and it's pretty interesting!

Yes!! I'm going to BC right now, I'm applying to BC in March, CSUB in Jan, and AVC in Jan also. That is sooo funny lol
