:typingI just started my summer bio class and so far is alot of stuff. What is everyone using to help them out with this class? Any websites? What book are you using? the class is 6wks AH!
maybe we can support each other
Does anyone have a site for practice test? I would love to get a little ahead of the class w/some test taking, etc. I'm taking Ethics w/this Biology class & will be finishing up my Math class....so, I will have some extra time for studying.
Fall will be more difficult w/A&P, Chem & Chem Lab, Intro to Respiratory Therapy.
OMG, I am so stressed out by this class! I have to take it online because none of the colleges offer an in person class that works with my schedule. I am taking the 8 week class and I am in week 4 so it is midterm time and I currently have a "C"!
Is anyone else taking this online through Rio Salado? It is BIO156 and my class started May 19th. Good luck to everyone!
tamtam, I feel your pain. I'm also taking it on-line and it's harder than I thought it would be. :imbar
How is your professor with grading? Is your grade dependent on the exams and quizzes, or do you have homework too?
We have chapter exams, practice quizzes (that are not graded), article reports, and homework.
My professor has an English background I think so everything is graded to the T if you know what I mean. We have two essays and a lab due every Wednesday and then usually it is a quiz and another lab on Saturday. I am not so much overwhelmed as I am just frustrated. It seems everything I turn in ends up as a C! I am an A student usually so this is tough fo me to accept. I am just praying I get at least a B in the class so I don't have to retake it. Good luck with your class too!
I just finished Bio with an A and we used the book with the white bird on it. It has a web site that outlines each chapter, has pre and post tests and power point. Everyday after lecture I came home and watched the power point, and I had the outline in class with me. I did the pre test for each chapter and post test to see if I was progressing. Hope this helps Good Luck;)
Crap. Took the test today and it was a lot different/harder. For the last FIVE tests the instructor reviewed the test by going over each test question in front of her and using it to tell us what we would be quizzed on. This one was not the same. I knew the stuff she said to know, and was still thrown for a loop. I don't think I did so well
We're currently on chapter 3. We began last Monday. My professor is very easy going and we will not cover the full text. His lectures provide the material that we'll have on our exams. We presently have four exams scheduled, three 500 word journal articles, and two weekly lab assignments that are due the following week. Aside from this we receive no homework. A fellow student mentioned that he was highly rated on ratemyprofessor.com. It appears that I got lucky with all of my class choices this summer.

Me too. I am sitting on a C. Our prof is tricky and takes points off for the slightest thing. Yet in our lab report which I got an excellent job comment on, she gave everybody in the class full credit for doing it, even if they only turned in nothing much.
I have always been an A student, I am hating this C stuff too. Trying to get to a B over next 3 weeks but not sure if I can.

I cannot wait to be done with this Bio class. I'm tired of studying cells and molecules; I can't wait until it's time to take anatomy in 2nd session. 3 more weeks to go!
