Anyone taking Biology summer 2008

:typingI just started my summer bio class and so far is alot of stuff. What is everyone using to help them out with this class? Any websites? What book are you using? the class is 6wks AH!

maybe we can support each other

I'm taking Biology I in the fall and I would like to get a head start on the material but I can't find what book is going to be used. Is there a general book?

what school? I am using Biology by Campbell 8th edition (General Bio). Hope this helps

RN28MD-How many chapters is your instructor covering per day?? This is the end of week 2 for me and we just went over Chapter 5. Monday is a test on chapters 4 & 5.

Flashcards are DEFINITELY helping me a lot. So much in fact that I'm needing less study time as the chapters go by. I study them and get my husband to quiz me with them as well. Usually my methods for studying for a quiz are as follows:

1. Make flashcards.

2. Go through each flash card as a freebie (ie Don't make myself know any answer yet. Read the question out loud and read the answer out loud)

3. Go through flashcards a second time and this time try to guess answers without looking.

4. Read entire chapter in book again.

5. Use CD from book and do activities and practice tests. Note what I got wrong, and go over those areas in the book again.

6. Flashcard review every couple hours.

Once I answer all the flashcards correct ONE TIME THROUGH, stop for the day. The next day is usually the test and I will wake up and first thing review the flashcards. Then multiple times before the test, especially right before class.

I think the key is don't overstudy, or else you have the tendency to go blank at test time.

We did the 1st day of class chapter 1 and now it is two chapters a day. In a class of 1hr45min. AH! is hard dong index cards when I am trying to catch up with the class. Also I have small children and can't do much until they go to bed. But I am trying. Finally No class tomorrow will start to catch up. I have an Essay do on Mon for the class on 4 most important molecules AH!

Carbon, Hydrogen, Oxygen, and Nitrogen?

That's killer. luckily we don't do essays or Chapter work. We just do labs and tests. If you need any help, let me know :)

i'm having my first lab test on monday. does anyone know of some good websites that would have really good pics of mitosis phases, epithelial tissues and connective tissues??
