:typingI just started my summer bio class and so far is alot of stuff. What is everyone using to help them out with this class? Any websites? What book are you using? the class is 6wks AH!

maybe we can support each other

I was told yesterday that it was Biology edition 8 by campbell

I bought that some book at school, 173$ yeah very expensive. I ended up buying it on amazon for 92$ but if you want the mastering weblink (now used instead of cd's) you can pay it online for 34$. Still saves you about 40$ or you could not buy that. Is up to you. you can try half.com too. I ended up returning the new one.

Good luck

I am starting bio mon . starting to get a little more nervous after reading these posts. If you dont mind me asking, how is everyone doing on the test, quizes. hope i didnt make a mistake taking this in the summer.

As long as you study enough, you should be fine.

I have done 4 quizzes and one test so far and have gotten 4 As and a B.

thank you, needed a little ray of hope.

How many weeks is your class? I know RN28MD's is 6 weeks, mine is actually 5.

You'll most likely be covering either one chapter a day if you have the lab and lecture in the same class day like I do, or possibly 2 chapters a day if you have it on separate days.

i'm taking a 6-week biology class. next week i'll be into the 4th week. i'm doing pretty good in the class, but a lot of people have dropped from it. i guess because they weren't expecting to be hit with so much info. going to the class and studying is the key.:twocents:

i think studying and class attendance is a given, but it is impossible to know what to expect unless you've spoken to the professor. my summer classes are not intense, or at least don't appear to be so. the pace and material covered is largely dependent on whether the instructor has made accommodations for the shortened time span, or intends to cram everything in. thus far in the classes i've taken both approaches are present.

my class is four days a week with lab and lecture. It is a six week class. I tried looking my professor up on ratemyprofesser.com but it didnt help much. I think the pressure comes from knowing how important a good grade is to help me get into nursing school. I am in san diego and the programs are very competitive.I just dont want to be in over my head right from the start.

Ohhh, I just found out that I won't have to take biology I so I guess I'll be taking A&PI instead!

Hey everyone. I'm also taking biology this summer, I started a week ago and my class ends in the beginning of August. I'm taking it on-line though, because my school is 45 minutes away and with how the gas prices are lately, I really didn't want to drive that far! So far I think the class is ok, I take my first exam on Chap 1-4 on June 13th. Just a lot of studying, at least for me, because I haven't taken science in forever.

Good luck to everyone!

I start Human Biology in a couple of wks. Thankyou for all the useful information. It's a summer class, so am a little anxious w/all the information that needs to be retained.
