I've applied to 5 area schools (Sac State, Sac City, Sutter, ARC, and Sierra) I'm waiting and I can't help but to be anxious. I thought it'd be nice to know who has heard and when. Thank you!
Keith
If any of you are on the Yuba College waitlist, I"ve been told that they are working on files for #1-350, and that numbers over 350 will most likely be contacted after Fall 2009. It sounds like letters for Spring 2009 have already been sent out, but I'm not 100% sure of that.
A friend is on the Yuba wait list... I'm passing this on to him. He's 400something.
Your very welcome. Believe me you guys, I know how disappointing it can be, but it does not always take five tries to get in:banghead:. There are a lot of people who get in on the first, and second:yeah:. Just think positive and it will happen. Make sure you put your names on the Yuba waitlist as well. I know it's a commute from Sac, but you have the added assurance. You have to take the HESI for Yuba instead of the TEAS so be aware of that. If you have any questions feel free to ask. I am a pro with the application process....
Hi everyone,
I emailed Teri Tallman (Sac State Nursing) to get an eta, and find out if there were steps that could be taken for prep in the interim. This is her reply:
"Dear Keith,
At this point, I anticipate admission decisions will be e-mailed in early December.
If you are selected for admission, orientation instructions will be provided on our new student orientation website after admissions decisions are delivered. You will be provided with a detailed pre-entry checklist. Most of the items may be easily completed before instruction begins with the exception of CPR certification:
CPR Certification
Current CPR Certification for Health Professionals is required and must be maintained throughout your enrollment in the nursing program. You need certification in either the American Heart Association's BLS Health Care Provider course (good for 2 years), or the American Red Cross CPR for Professional Rescuers course (good for 1 year). You are responsible for finding a course to meet this requirement. We recommend you do not wait until the week before the certificate is due, classes fill up quickly! If you currently have a certificate that will lapse during the semester, consider renewing now. Training is also available through the American Heart Association http://www.heartsource.org/ and the American Red Cross http://www.redcross.org/services/hss/. You must bring or mail a copy of both sides of the certificate to the Division of Nursing."
I hope this helps.
Keith
Thanks Keith...the only bummer about this is that I have to take the GRE regardless. Great. Soooo not how I wanted to spend Thanksgiving-Eve. :-(
The good news is I can open my email now for the next two weeks without feeling like I'm going to lose my lunch! I guess we can consider the notification our Christmas present!
