Anyone in the Sacramento area get an answer yet?

Published

I've applied to 5 area schools (Sac State, Sac City, Sutter, ARC, and Sierra) I'm waiting and I can't help but to be anxious. I thought it'd be nice to know who has heard and when. Thank you!

Well I guess I can join the unaccepted list cause I haven't heard anything yet either. This will be my third rejection so far. My husband keeps telling me not to feel upset or discouraged but how do you do that when all these programs basically tell you no we don't want you, you're not good enough. I have spent so much money on transcripts and time on the pre req classes sometimes it just doesn't seem fair.

Well, I have more news... A second classmate received a letter from Sutter yesterday. Her's was an alternate letter. It's looking pretty dim for getting into Sutter on the first round acceptances. Let's keep our heads up. Sac state is a month away, and there's always the hail Mary pass (The lotteries).

Am I the only one who has had NO word from Sutter? I'm starting to think my mailman mis-delivered my acceptance, rejection or alternate letter. You'd think I'd get something by now. Anyone else in the same boat?

I haven't gotten anything, one way or the other either. I'm just hearing from those who have.

Keith,

Will you let me know when you get your notification? I didn't get anything in today's mail either. If I still haven't heard anything by Monday then I think I'll call.

Thanks!

Polka-dot,

I got my rejection letter today. It's a bit of a surprise to be honest. They told me that I am eligible, just not picked. I had a rave review from my physio teacher, a 4.0, and what I thought was a good "why I want to be a nurse" letter. It makes me curious about what they are looking for, that I didn't even make the alt list. More than anything though it makes me nervous for the Sac State app.

Good luck, and keep me posted. Hopefully, we'll be in class together at Sac State.

Keith,

Did you have any volunteer or paid healthcare experience? I think that holds a lot of weight with the Sutter program, whereas Sac State is all about the points!

It does make me nervous too though. Gulp! I'll let ya'll know when I hear from Sutter...maybe I'll get my "no thanks" letter on Monday. I'm not really expecting to hear anything else.

I don't have tons of experience... 6 months + or - on UC Davis' trauma floor. It was enough to get me the three point from Sac State. Also, with a 500 word cap, I didn't get into my length of service in my essay. I did mention that I had volunteer experience and some of the details around my experiences.

Well I got my "thanks-but-no-thanks" letter today too. Finally. At least now I know that I won't have to make the very difficult decision between two awesome programs! Ok, that's assuming I get in to Sac State for Spring.

I soooo do not want to take the GRE, but the ABSN program to Sac State is my backup plan if I don't get into the traditional program. I am taking it in December...I guess I should start studying, just in case.

Anyone else taking the GRE?

Hey polka_dot,

Yea that is why i wasn't planning on applying to teh sac state program. I really don't want to take teh GRE. I don't think I will do well on it. But since everyone else is getting there rejection letters I guess mine will come today as well. I guess plan b is study for GRE

that letter was for SCC's Sutter program, which had an earlier deadline than the other CC programs here in Sac. I'm expecting we'll here from everyone else around mid-monthish or so. Good luck!
