Hey all. I am looking for hospitals that have evening shift positions. Preferrably in a critical care area. I am looking for hospitals that have any kind of evening shift positions between 12 noon and 3a. Thanks in advance. I know most of them do not have 8 hour or evening positions these days. Any help will be much appreciated.

:uhoh21: Are there hospitals that don't have evening shift jobs open?? That is usually the last shift an;yone wants to work. Come to Texas, we have plenty!:trout:
Most of the hospitals in my area (PA) and elsewhere I look only are doing 12 hour day or night positions. Who in Texas has evening shift jobs? Thanks.

I notice your join date was dec. 1969. Wow! I was lucky to find an electric typewriter back then!
Good luck with your job hunt, hope you find the hours you need.

1969 is allnurses "homage" to the Y2K . And hey I was using an electric back in 62 I think. I still hve it somewhere supporting old checks or magazines or something.
To the OP I assume you mean 8 hour shifts? Where do you want to work? Have you considered a nurses' agent to help you look. I loved 3-11 but I haven't seen one advertised here (SC) in quite a while.

The facility I work in right now does have 8 and 12 hour positions. The unit I work on could use another 3-11 RN. I know of a few other hospitals that also have 3p-11p shifts. Could be there is a bit more competition for nurses in my area though, 16 hospitals I can think of off the top of my head within a 40 min drive of where I live. If I stretch that to an hour drive and agree to cross one state line or another I can add 5 more hospitals.
This is Pittsburgh PA area.

Usually ER has weird evening shifts. Where I work we have 7 am - 7 pm, 9a - 7p, 11-11, 1-1, 3-3, 7 p to 7am. Hope this helps.
Thank you all for the ideas. I really appreciate all of the ideas. As far as my join date, I actually joined somewhere between 98-00 when I was a nursing student. Thanks again! Have a good night.

We work 3-3 here . . . 3 a.m. to 3 p.m. and vice versa because no one wanted to work a true "night" shift.
I'm in California.

I wouldnt generally encourage anyone to come to AZ, but Scottsdale Healthcare has 3-11 shifts available all over the place. 2 hospitals within the system, one is a level one.

Depends what you want to do. I'm working the 3-11p today. I can't speak for everyplace in central Wisconsin but there are many places that have the 3-11 (or a variation thereof) around Oshkosh.
Aimee, Why would you generally not encourage anyone to come to AZ? One of the places I was thinking about heading would be Tucson or Phoenix. What about AZ don't you like? You can PM me if you want to.
Others, thanks for some good ideas.
