Anyone do the kaplan, hurst REVIEW and failed?

Has anyone taken one of those 200-400 dollar review courses online or in a classroom and ended up failing the nclex? I'm referring to Kaplan, and hurst, and ATI. I'm just wondering if there is a 100% pass rate after taking these classes. I believe you get a refund if you fail and you can retake the class, or you can get a refund and just try something else. Is this true?

wishingonastar, good luck to you! You may want to utilize Saunders Review Ed. 4 and perhaps private message Suzanne once you have 15 posts. You can find the sticky in the NCLEX discussion forum

I took Kaplan and also failed. :crying2:

did you take hurst review class? live or online? cuz im planning to take it too... thanks. :nuke::nuke::nuke:

ive read some few post here that HURst was great and with kaplan some recommends it but some not

Well, I took the Kaplan review and went all the way to 265 questions! I don't have my results but I tried the pearson trick. It lead me all the way to payment. :( Most likely eaning I did not pass. I did EXACTLY what the program told me to do: I watched ALL the videos, read the book, did all Question trainers, Q-bank, Alternative questions, and two extra exams they offered after Q-banks. I strongly felt the Kaplan online course was good. It taught me how to answer 'critical thinking' questions. Which i did well on. The problem was, my questions on NCLEX exam was more straight forward with straight forward answers. It was not anything close to how Kaplan's questions were, at least for me. I could not use the decision tree on majority of my questions. I had alot of select all, and priority questions ( i got a 90% on Priority in the Kaplan online course). If your very good with knowledge content, I recommend take the Kaplan online course. The book that comes along with it is pretty vague. If your looking for something that is more comprehensive, then i recommend using the SAUNDERS book 4th edition. Which I will be using really soon and PASS on my second attempt.

Hi How did you do on your boards? Praying for you!!

Kaplan review was just a distraction from what I normally would of done to prep for a test. I passed with 75 and used none of the "RULES of NCLEX" kaplan gives you, plus none of the content that was covered in their review material was on my test. I would of passed with or without it. IT IS A WASTE OF MONEY. If I had to do it over again, I would study with a different company, or just buy a NCLEX book from Amazon.

I believe Hurst has a remediation program if you take their review and fail. I took Hurst review and loved it. I did the online one though (it is cheaper than a live review, I think). Check into their website for details (hurstreview.com). This is such a comprehensive review that I wish I had known about it at the beginning of nursing school so I could have been using the online videos with my lecture content. It would have made nursing school so much easier! I think once you purchase online review you have access indefinitely. Not 100% sure about that. But it is a great investment.

Hurst is 90 days, same as Kaplan.

I graduated 3 months ago and took the NCLEX today. The only studying I did was this weekend when I bought the Hurst online and watched most of the videos, except the maternity ones, and renal (because I ran out of time). I printed out the pdf handouts and filled them out as I listened and watched the online videos. I didn't do any of the practice tests. I found the material they taught matched up well to the NCLEX test. I should have taken the test earlier and I should have studied harder, but I'm just a serial procrastinator.

I think Kaplan has a 100% money back guarantee. Hurst has a service fee of around $70. From what I have been told Hurst has more nursing content while Kaplan focuses more on testing strategies.
