But if I am already grandfathered into the program, shouldn't I be able to be licensed in my state, then transfer my license to CA? I thought they just weren't doing the program in Cali anymore.

Grandfathered were only CA residents in the nursing clinical/theory in early 2012 that were affected by the dissolution of the agreement between ISU & Sonoma state and court orders in the case of CABRN vs ISU, SSU & TCN. If you weren't in the final phase by that point you are not grandfathered. Just like if you were enrolled in EC LPN to ASN on or before December 2003 you were grandfathered. Anyone who was not in the clinical component of ISU after 2012 is affected

JustBeachyNurse, I appreciate all of your correspondence. I ask one more thing of you; can you give me the link for this lawsuit so I can read up? That is, if you know where to find the info. Again, I appreciate everything.

Anyone around the atlanta area completed or planning to attend the lpn to bsn through isu?

Possibly, but I'm also considering Excelsior.

Where are you completing your prerequisite classes. Have you heard of Global Learn

I got accepted, but they stopped accepting this program in the state of NC. So I would have to choose another state. What is Global Learn?

Our local college just stopped offering the bridge program for LPN to ASN. So looking at an all online program seemed like a good idea. I have spoken to 4 people, who either started the program with Indiana. I looked into the costs, because none of them were able to tell me the cost of the program. I kept calling Indiana and got a rounaround. I figure it is at least 92 credit hours at $ 777 per credit, the program is going to cost me almost $ 80K.

But the school touts a cost of closer to $ 25k. If anybody who did the program could enlightenen me, I would appreciate.

Isn't 92 credits inclusive of all pre and co requisites?

I would think the courses for the nursing portion of the BA would be forty something in units/credits. I was going to do this program recently, got accepted. But, the state of NC canceled it. I sounds pretty legit with dedicated clinicals instead of a clinical test. I would have done it if my state still accepted it.

No the total is 120 credits with 28 pre requs.

Good luck.

I am going to try the same route.

I have switched careers and think, I am only working for about 20 years tops. Where I live the pay difference between LPN and RN is about $ 10 per hour. So in order to justify, getting a RB for a 6 digit number, I need to work 5 years easily just for that. Ahm, no thanks.

That seems excessive for cost. Have you tried talking with an admissions or nursing program advisor at ISU to get the best answer?

I know one person who graduated in an accepted state and was very happy
