I hate to admit this. But, I want to call the college everyday to see if the acceptance letters have gone out, even though, they said the end of May. This waiting is driving me crazy.
I won't apply until the end of August for the Spring 06 semester. I already feel impatient.....I want to start now!

I know exactly what you mean. My psych professor told me that she sits on the commitee that reviews the applications and that they haven't even started reviewing the applications yet but that we would get a letter by the end of May or in the first of June. I want to know already so I can plan my fall schedule there were 125 applicants for 30 slots and I just want to scream sometimes and others I am sure I will get in.

Me too! Me too! For my #1 choice school, I was pulled as #33 out of 30 on a lottery system, so I am a #3 alternate. I couldn't help myself and contacted the school yesterday. So far two have declined, so now I am the #1 alternate. They said they will call me if a spot opens up... I am totally freaking out too!
Best of luck to you! You will find out before you know it! :)

I'm on pins and needles waiting for my letter! They said I should hear something around the first week in June. I only applied to one so I am extra anxious!

I know how you feel! Our application deadline was May 1 and we wont know until July 1 who got in. Its pretty stressful since of the people that are accepted half start in August and the other half start in January. So that leaves the August starters only a short time to get everything taken care of! I keep trying to think positive thoughts but its hard knowing last year they got 1200 applications and they only accept 164 people!

I called a few times and were always told, "you will be receiving something this week."
I was on pins and needles for a few weeks and I felt let down only to see that the only mail that I had received was junk mail.
However, this week, I got it. I got my acceptance letter!!! I start this August 2005.
I'm glad I got in on my first try. I don't think I could have survived another year of wait and see.

I was in the same boat a little over a month ago, and I've always been one to just wait for things instead of being more aggressive. Let me tell you something, don't be too resistant to the urge to call. Let me tell you what happened to me...
My CC posted new admission criteria on the website early in Feb. On that page, there was a link you could click on to find out what class you were being considered for. When I went in, it said I was being considered for August 2005. I was thrilled. It also said that they needed to know whether or not I was still interested in the program. I chose yes and submitted my answer immediately. We were supposed to be notified by email in April. On April 7, I found out from a girl in one of my classes that she had received an email. I was devastated because I thought I was out. I was tempted to wait a little longer because maybe they were still in the process of notifying people, but I called. When I called, I found out that they had no record of me ever responding to the survey. They corrected the problem immediately, and I'm in, but if I hadn't called, I'd be on the outside looking in for August, and maybe even January.
The moral of the story for me is that I will never again hesitate or feel funny about calling again. I've had my life on hold for a year and a half, and I would have had to wait longer if I hadn't called.
If anyone gets impatient with you for calling, just remind them of how important this is to you and everyone else who is waiting.
Good luck.

Our deadline was May 1, too. Is it common practice for committees to take 2 months to review applications? Should I expect to wait 'til July 1, at least? I'm going crazy, too! Last year, my school of choice had approx. 800 applications for 100 positions! Not very hopeful, but hopeful anyway. It's comforting to know I'm not alone. Good luck to everyone else waiting!
