Anyone heard back from CSU Sacramento?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Did anyone apply to CSU Sacramento's BSN program for Fall 2009? Have you heard back from them? I'm curious as to when acceptance/rejection/alternate letters will be distributed. I'm a nervous wreck, since Sac State is my first choice. I thought about calling, but I don't want to be a hassle, LOL.

If you applied to Sac State, and are eagerly waiting for your letter or have already received one, shout your news here. :D

Thank you kindly. :redbeathe

I really wanted #6, but there were issues with it (it kept showing a time conflict between the lecture and lab), so I went with #7. I'm glad I got a schedule with an open day before clinicals

I registered for section 2. It looks like sections 2 and 4 are identical.

Like Mossback, I wanted section 6 but it had issues this morning. Those issues were resolved later on, and now it's full =/. I registered for section 8 instead, as my first choice (section 3) was gone within minutes of 9:00.

Just curious, what criteria did you choose your clinical groups on (besides the obvious time differences)? I just chose UC Davis because it seemed relatively close to Sac State on the map (I'm not from the Sac area, but rather from SF)

UCD was my first choice. It's a teaching hospital and has a huge patient load, so I thought it would provide both a good atmosphere and an interesting range of experiences for a student nurse.

As it turns out, I'll be doing clinical at Sutter General. That's fine with me, and I'm confident I'll get a good clinical experience. No matter where I go I fully expect to be bewildered most of the time during the first semester

By the way, Sutter General isn't much further from Sac State than UCD. The parking situation is the same at both places (sucks).

It's unfortunate that parking sucks at both facilities. I hope we'll be eligible for some kind of discount or permit on parking, but I doubt it. I'm guessing we'll have to shell out the hourly parking fees when we have clinicals or find street parking (which I'm a little hesitant to do since my clinical lets out at 10pm 2 days of the week). I've also heard that the area around UCD can be a bit sketchy at night.

I've created a yahoo! group for everyone attending Sac State starting Fall 2009 for their nursing program. Last year's ASBSN cohort used their yahoo group for sharing study guides, asking each other questions, finding roommates, etc; anything to help each other succeed in the program.

Hopefully everyone (all 80 of us) will join.

This may be a stupid question, but how do I find the Yahoo! group? I'd love to join...

Not a stupid question at all. I actually posted the link, but it got deleted by a moderator as allnurses doesn't allow links to other forums :nono: . I'll PM you the link shortly.

hey, if you could please pm me the yahoo group also? sounds like a great idea. looking forward to meeting you all in august @ orientation

For those of you going to Sac State this fall, you can actually meet each other on August 9th at a potluck picnic hosted by the 2nd semester students. Check the sourcepage on SacCT...if it's not up now it should be soon!

i don't check yahoo groups often enough, I'd prefer a facebook group. maybe ill make one for us facebookers. ;) sorry not to counter your yahoo group but I know how unlikely ill go to it and itll be easier to stay updated with FB because I use it so often that and a lot of 2nd semester students are on there already and can offer help I am sure if they have time :)
