Anyone hear from CSU stanislaus for fall 2010?

Published

Hello everyone. Does anyone know when they send out the decision letters from CSU stanislaus? I got into the ohlone program but it is an associate program and since I'm planning on getting a BSN eventually I would really rather go to a CSU right away than take the long route to get there. The other two CSUs I applied to sent me waiting list letters. I'm happy to be in any program, but I noticed that ohlone doesn't have some things the CSUs have, like a pediatrics class. Any ideas?

I GOT IN!!!!!!!!!!! im freaking out!

Specializes in EMERGENCY.
:yeah: Congrats!!!! :yeah: Courtcatt is going to be a :nurse:!

OMG CONGRATSS!!! so you were number 6 right? did they tell you how many more they accepted from the alternates?

It was kinda funny. I called to update my phone number cause I changed it today and she was like "oh your courtney?" and I said yes and she said well I was going to be calling you tomorrow cause your in. I started screaming and she laughed really hard. ha. I asked her about the alternates cause I was thinking of the rest of you alternates :) and she said that as of 2:30 6 people had called in to decline their intent... which is why I would be called but she said there would probably be a lot more since a lot of people dont even call to decline their intent...so you still have a chance! I wish I could tell you more but its def good news that 6 ppl had declined by 230 which means there will for sure be more people who dont even call. you were 26 right? Now your 20....ill keep my fingers crossed for you. Keep me updated!

I am truly happy for you. I cannot wait to call them tomorrow..(which is my birthdate by the way) so i hope they have good news for me!!

Thanks for the support and ill keep you posted..!! xoxo

Awww really?? Happy birthday! Ill say a prayer you get in.... Yah they said they would call to inform the alternates but I would call as well...I think you could probably at least ask what alternate number they are on. They also said the hard part is waiting for the alternates that were before you to declare their intent to register....so even though there was 5 ppl ahead of me...doesnt mean they all accepted their intent u know? so for all you know you could be number 16 as of 230 today...lemme know what they tell you when you call. BEST OF LUCK CHESSIE

Congrats Courtcatt. I guess this means we'll be in the same class. It looks like we have a lot to do to get ready to start. I'a a little overwhelmed by the cost of tuitiion. It has really gone up... tripled in the past 5 years and still rising. It looks like there are a lot of miscellaneous charges for vaccines, etc. I'm really glad I'm going to this program rather than an ADN program, though. I think the quality of education and getting the BSN will pay off big time.

Thank you! Im still on cloud nine. Yah im nervous about all the costs...but Ive been saving for it. I have no idea where to start with all the stuff we need to do....

I think that cost would be the least of my concerns as long as i made it into the program!! still crossing my fingers...

Courtcatt,

I spoke to my friend, Tracey, who started at CSU Stan in Spring 10 and she said that all the vaccines/titers can be obtained at the health center. I called the health center because I wanted to get a jump on the Hep B series, but they said they didn't see my registration for Fall, even though I've already registered. Probably because I haven't paid yet! ($$$ not due until August). She said to make an appointment in August and they will take care of it. So we'll find out everything at the Orientation on August 2. There is also a medical terminology test that we will have to take and before we start classes. Did you notice in the acceptance letter that they assume we know medical terminology? I'm going to get a book and brush up.. but Tracey said the test is pretty much common sense.

I'm also looking for someone who lives in the Sonora area or Tuolumne/Calaveras County who will be commuting to Stan. If anyone is accepted in that area, please let me know if you want to car pool. Fortunately the first semester we only have school 3 days a week.

I guess I should start a new thread pertaining to those accepted to CSU.

apoppyfield-

Thanks so much for the update! Yah I just heard about the medical term test.. I heard the same thing as your friend....very common sense. So thats not too stressful. WOW only school 3 days a week? That sounds nice. Yah I need to find out about the vaccines...getting a head start would be smart. So its okay if we dont pay by the orientation right?

Im really new to the area so I dont even know where your coming from. Im coming from Patterson so if thats along the way we could carpool no problem.

Oh yah and Chessie...

Any word? DId you call and see what alternate number they were on?
