Hi!
I was just wondering of all the people who got into the program this year, what were your NET scores? Did anyone get in with an 85 composite score or lower?? If so, WHAT WAS YOUR READING AND MATH SCORES? I just took my NET yesterday for the third time and got an 85 composite. Math was a 96 and reading was a 73. I know it could all be different this year, but i was just wondering because i really want to get into the 2009 program!! Anyone and everyone, PLEASE let me know!!!!
Thanks:bow:
I'm new here. When's the next NET test at DCCC? Where's the best place to get a book?
The NET test dates vary. I thought ti only offered it on certain days a month, but it seems like they offer it every day. It's just a matter of what day/time they have available. It's usually given from 9am-6pm, but you have to schedule a specific time from the admin office.
The book I got, and people have said to be helpful with the ERI book. It's by the makers of the NET test. They sell them at the DCCC bookstore for $28, I think, but I got mine on ebay for cheaper. It's a pretty small book but it's good cause it basically tells you what they will be testing you on.
Good Luck to you!
i marked down on my nursing petition, that i prefer evening weekend, but would take day. Right now, i think the evening/weekend would really work out better for me and my husband and i wouldnt have to take my son to daycare as much. but i really am willing to take whatever they give me! that is IF they even give me a seat. I am so mad that i have to worry about this stupid test again! its soo entirely stressful! but what about you, do you have any other practice tests (besides the eriworld ones, which were very helpful) that you would maybe be willing to swap with me??? im trying to get all the practice tests i can get my hands on!!
I was thinking of marking perfer evening, but will take day which will make my chances better, but I don't know if I can really do day. And during the orientation Eli was like, don't put prefer evening but will take day because your scores may qualify you for the day program but not the evening program. But I might just do that anyways. Who knows.
Yeah, the test is so stressful. I find the reading portion the worse, cause I'm good at math and average in reading, but apparently my reading score proved otherwise.
So when you dropped your your petition, is that when they told you that they had to eliminate your 3rd NET scores? That totally sucks. I would be so upset knowing you passed the reading (as hard as it is) and now you have to retake it. Did you improve your reading scores by a lot from your 2nd NET test? I'm trying to find ways to improve my 1st NET reading scores by about 25 points.
Sure, let me see what I have. I'm at work now so I don't have any NET study materials, etc on me. I'll respond back when look through them.
the reading is harder on the test, mainly because you can't see prevoius paragraphs as easily as you can in the study guide. so when you get a question that asks about the last 5 paragraphs and you have 1 min to answer the question, its kinda hard to feel confident in your answer!i did find that reading the question and the choices 1st did help, i spent so much time studying interfernce and took for granted how easy main idea should be. i got 80 on the interfernce and 57 on main idea. i understand the main idea is in the topic sentence, its not too broad and its not too narrow. so why did i bomb it??? because i didn't feel like i had enough time. there is no clock letting you know how much time you have left, maybe i would have done better taking my time getting the questions i answered right and if i ran out of time with 3 questions to go it probaly would have been better!
i'm sorry to hear you didn't do so well, too. when i took the net, i didn’t even finish the test. i got to around question 24 before the time clocked out on me. i wish we had a timer or something displayed to show how much time we had left. they have the little clock in the corner on the desk top but when you’re concentrating you don’t focus on the time. i made it a point to be close to question 15 when the 15 min mark past, but when i wasn’t i panicked a little. the stupid thing i did too was to not just guess the remaining questions to see if i could have gotten some of those right. 2nd time around i’m going to take my time on the reading speed test and worry about how slow i read as the school doesn’t look at that score and the thing your reading is the paragraph that has to do with the first passage in the reading comprehension. my reading comp. was on hippocratic/microbiology thing, then difference btwn day/night people, then the ear. how about you?
it’s hard to say if trying to get as much questions right in the beginning versus going through the whole test will help. i’ve read/seen people miss like 5-6 questions at the end, but still pass with at least the minimum.
i’m not sure if taking the net at another school would count or be considered otherwise. i would check with the school along with your medical issue. if they would let you do that, that would be great. it’s at least worth a shot.
I did speak to Eli, the only thing I can do is wait 6 weeks. I don't think the waitlist is worth it though, all the applicants who applied by the deadline and didn't get a seat are on the waitlist as well.
I think I'm gonna apply to DCIU in Folcroft for LPN, its 12 months long, so hopefully I begin to apply to DCCC next year for the RN program. Eli said I would still need the NET, but I would start as a 2nd year RN student, so in the end it would be like getting in now.
SO now, I need to study for the TEAS!!! Luck for me DCIU doesn't use the science scores. I need 80 reading, 50 math, 50 english. I went over study guide and the reading looks a lot eaiser. The English was easy, but the math was more complicated! They have metric systems, formulas for cylinder, circle, rectangle and most of the problems are set up as word problems. On the website it says they admit 80 students but when I talked to the director she said 50.
Also, DCCC does not get informed if you took the NET at another location, they only keep track of you at their school, and if took the NET somewhere else I could use that score, unless I took the NET at DCCC and the dates were not 6 weeks apart. Go Figure. BUT hey go take the NET at other schools to practice!
Yea my reading was on that too
Check out this link www.freesinginglesson.net
Don't ask how I found it, I just did, no luck on the other ones though
OH, I have the TEAS study guide so I used some of thier reading comp, I also used the Testpreview site and these sites

I talked to Eli today too. He said I couldn't see when the test is until I go to an info session, but that they'd be available. I did call my high school and my college to have transcripts sent. Is there a good website to take a practice test? I'm sorry for so many questions. Sweetie24---do you know you're not going to get in?
I never went to an info session. To take the test all you need to do is go to the main campus to the cashier tell her you want to pay for the NET, she gives you a reciept then you walk across the hall to the admissions office show them the reciept and then you get to see what dates are open and pick.
used the Testpreview.com site and these sites
http://www.readingcomprehensionconnection.com/ - also has math, and the math problems are more like the test then the study guides

I don't know that I won't get in. I just don't think wait listed people have a good chance, literally I would have to pray someone dropped out and that I was the 1st person on the list!
Lets assume they have 220 applicants applying for fall 09, they only have 132 seats, that leaves 88 people on the wait list - in order from highest score to lowest score. Lets just say these 220 applicants all made the deadline of oct 31, I put in my application after them, were would I go on the waitlist? Would my score be placed in order with the others or would I go to the bottom regardless of my scores because I didn't met the deadline? IF my scores were GREAT and I got factored into the waitlist, I would apply, otherwise I'm not gonna waste the test attempt to be #50 on the waitlist, all that will happen is I need to reapply the following year! So maybe I will ask Eli how that works. Right now I don't think I have a good chance, if I retake the test in Oct get good scores I'll apply, do I think I'll get in no. But atleast I'll have it done for the next year and I can apply on time!
How accurate is the geocities cite in how the test is set up? Can you see the questions before you start the timer? Can you page forward and back through the questions? Can you see the whole text on the side of the questions?
Please let me know. You are a wonderful help and I am eternally grateful. Thank you so much.
