  1. pandaluck I also got into the 2009 program. Have you already taken all of your prerequisites? I've also been out of school for 10 years.
  2. 2ndcareer... me too! I feel like preparing for the test and getting everything else together was such a stress, that now I don't know what to do with myself during the wait. I have stuff to do, but my mind keeps coming back to getting the results. I guess that's good though, because it shows we really do want to be in the program. I hope you are well.
  3. Thank you so much for everything. I went in today to turn in my petition to Eli today. He's very nice. He checked everything out for me, but didn't like my child abuse check, so he sent me upstairs to the library to request a copy from the state. Mine came from a company that Girl Scouts uses. So, I did that, dragging the two kids I had with me. The only problem was that the stroller didn't fit through the turnstyle and the baby wanted to nurse the whole time. So, he screamed for 10 minutes in the library. I was mortified and wanted to disappear. I hope you are all well and enjoyed the Phillies win last night! What are you all up to, until we hear the results of all our hard work?
  4. Well, everyone, I took the test today. I didn't sleep at all last night. I want to go to bed now, but I really want to watch the Phillies too. So, I was afraid to open my results until I got to the car. I got a 98 on math and an 85 on reading. That's a composite of 92. I think that's good. I was surprised because I graduated college in 1999 and have not done much, but be a mommy since then. Thank you so much for all of your help. I hope we can meet next year. Are you doing day or night? Off to help the kiddos with homework.
  5. Great job! I'm scheduled on 10/29. I hope I do well. How did you do on the practice tests? What really is the best way to improve your reading? I'd love to talk to you on the phone. What's the best way for me to reach you? Please email me your email addy and I'll email you back.
  6. My 19 month old needed to be weaned on her own and YES, she did end up crying it out. She nursed to sleep, as did her sister. It was horrible and I made up my mind to start sleep training earlier with my next child. I don't know if it's my decision not to let him nurse to sleep, or just that he's a different baby, but he falls asleep on his own. From a pure health aspect, I think the Academy of Pediatricians was recommending nursing until age 2 if at all possible. That doesn't mean all day; morning, and or night, would be okay too. I'm learning to be a Nursing Counselor right now, so I have lots of information in my head about breastfeeding. When I needed to learn 7 years ago, there were very few people I could talk to for help. I want to be there for any of my friends, if they ever need help. ---- On to other things...I'm not sure about the college offering the eriworld studyguide, or not. I wanted to go and buy one today, but the baby is still sick. I'll have to wait until Monday. Did you have to apply to the college first, in order to register? Or, could you just walk in from off of the street and ask to register? I'm sorry if I'm asking too many questions. I hope you are staying dry in this yucky day.
  7. ---- thx. baby is nearly 14 mos. i nursed my now 7yo til 13 mos and my now 5 yo til 19 mos. is eriworld the 1 fr college? not sure if i shld just go to bookstore + buy now. i'm interested in studying w/ you any time
  8. i need 2 go 2 the college 2 schedule. sorry 1 hand typing. i have a nursing baby. hoping won't take 2 long 2 schedule and brushing up on my math/reading. grad high school in 1995 and have a bs in psych fr 1999, but have had kids since. how's the math part? can you also comment on my new here post? you are the best! thx so much
  9. How accurate is the geocities cite in how the test is set up? Can you see the questions before you start the timer? Can you page forward and back through the questions? Can you see the whole text on the side of the questions? Please let me know. You are a wonderful help and I am eternally grateful. Thank you so much.
  10. Thank you so much. Best of luck to you. I'll let you know what happens. Please let me know what Eli says about you applying early and that affecting the waitlist time, or not. Have a wonderful day!
  11. I talked to Eli today too. He said I couldn't see when the test is until I go to an info session, but that they'd be available. I did call my high school and my college to have transcripts sent. Is there a good website to take a practice test? I'm sorry for so many questions. Sweetie24---do you know you're not going to get in?
  12. I'm new here. When's the next NET test at DCCC? Where's the best place to get a book?
