LPN program in PA - Folcroft need info!!
Oh I did get them to tell me what a passing teas was! lol! It is 50 math and english 80 reading and they don't look at science. I just wonder if they have 50 seats and 80 applicants what the top 50 scores are normally! Like I heard Delco NET scores for the program are about 85, and 80's are lucky, even though they only require you to get a 70. I took the NET but didn't score high enough in Reading. I got 82 math and 61 reading. I know the TEAS Math is harder and Reading is easier. I plan on checking into pathway and doing my best!

Anyone who got into DCCC 2008 program, HELP!
Yea I asked! I said I was thinking of applying at other schools that use the NET, If I take it at another school 3 times is DCCC able to see that. He said the schools are the only ones that keep track not the test. I'm about to go pay $60 for the TEAS at folcroft. I need 80 reading 50 math and 50 english. If I get those scores I am accepted for fall 09. I'm thankful they don't count the science!

Anyone who got into DCCC 2008 program, HELP!
I never went to an info session. To take the test all you need to do is go to the main campus to the cashier tell her you want to pay for the NET, she gives you a reciept then you walk across the hall to the admissions office show them the reciept and then you get to see what dates are open and pick. used the Testpreview.com site and these sites http://www.readingcomprehensionconnection.com/ - also has math, and the math problems are more like the test then the study guides http://www.geocities.com/yamataro670/readinglab.htm http://hfcclab.info/NET/readingprelude.htm I don't know that I won't get in. I just don't think wait listed people have a good chance, literally I would have to pray someone dropped out and that I was the 1st person on the list! Lets assume they have 220 applicants applying for fall 09, they only have 132 seats, that leaves 88 people on the wait list - in order from highest score to lowest score. Lets just say these 220 applicants all made the deadline of oct 31, I put in my application after them, were would I go on the waitlist? Would my score be placed in order with the others or would I go to the bottom regardless of my scores because I didn't met the deadline? IF my scores were GREAT and I got factored into the waitlist, I would apply, otherwise I'm not gonna waste the test attempt to be #50 on the waitlist, all that will happen is I need to reapply the following year! So maybe I will ask Eli how that works. Right now I don't think I have a good chance, if I retake the test in Oct get good scores I'll apply, do I think I'll get in no. But atleast I'll have it done for the next year and I can apply on time!

Anyone who got into DCCC 2008 program, HELP!
I did speak to Eli, the only thing I can do is wait 6 weeks. I don't think the waitlist is worth it though, all the applicants who applied by the deadline and didn't get a seat are on the waitlist as well. I think I'm gonna apply to DCIU in Folcroft for LPN, its 12 months long, so hopefully I begin to apply to DCCC next year for the RN program. Eli said I would still need the NET, but I would start as a 2nd year RN student, so in the end it would be like getting in now. SO now, I need to study for the TEAS!!! Luck for me DCIU doesn't use the science scores. I need 80 reading, 50 math, 50 english. I went over study guide and the reading looks a lot eaiser. The English was easy, but the math was more complicated! They have metric systems, formulas for cylinder, circle, rectangle and most of the problems are set up as word problems. On the website it says they admit 80 students but when I talked to the director she said 50. Also, DCCC does not get informed if you took the NET at another location, they only keep track of you at their school, and if took the NET somewhere else I could use that score, unless I took the NET at DCCC and the dates were not 6 weeks apart. Go Figure. BUT hey go take the NET at other schools to practice!

Net ???
82 math and 61 reading, composite score 72. The scores to apply to the program are 65 math 70 reading, composite 65.

Net ???
OK, today I took the NET for the fisrt time and didn't score well enough on the reading:cry: My school makes you wait 6 weeks before you can re test and you are only allowed to take the test 3 times. Heres the bigger issue..the application deadline is Oct 31, I don't have 6 weeks. I was thinking about taking it at a different school, do you think I could use those scores? My other option seems more likely but I'm not sure. I have ADD, but I didn't feel the need to document it with the school. I also never had to take a timed test before either. I know if I had more time I would have done much better, any thoughts from anyone that if I explain this, get it documented they will allow me to take it again with extra time before the deadline? Next choice, LPN, which the 2 schools in my area use the TEAS, which I heard is harder, and I have not had a science since high school. Last resort wait and apply again next year. Does anyone know, if I take the NET 3 times at my choice school and don't get in with my scores, go to another school that requires the NET will I be able to take it again? Does the NET testing system keep track of how many times you've taken it or just the school?? Thanks ladies

The reading is harder on the test, mainly because you can't see prevoius paragraphs as easily as you can in the study guide. So when you get a question that asks about the last 5 paragraphs and you have 1 min to answer the question, its kinda hard to feel confident in your answer! I did find that reading the question and the choices 1st did help, I spent so much time studying Interfernce and took for granted how easy main idea should be. I got 80 on the interfernce and 57 on main idea. I understand the main idea is in the topic sentence, its not too broad and its not too narrow. So why did I bomb it??? Because I didn't feel like I had enough time. There is no clock letting you know how much time you have left, maybe I would have done better taking my time getting the questions I answered right and if I ran out of time with 3 questions to go it probaly would have been better!

Anyone who got into DCCC 2008 program, HELP!
Well I took it today...I didn't do well enough though. I got an 82 math and 61 reading. I'm really bummed b/c I don't have 6 weeks before the deadline to take it again. I am kicking myself because I have ADD, but I don't have it documented with the school. I feel my medication helps but I never had this much pressure or a timed test. I wish so much that I had it documented so I could have had time and 1/2. I know with the extra time I could have done so much better. Do you think if I explain this to the school they will allow me to document my learning disability and take the test before the deadline?? Otherwise I have no clue what I should do!! I really didn't want to wait till 2010! Does anyone know if I can take the test at another school if DCCC will accept them? I was thinking of going to Thomas Jefferson on Oct 16 taking the NET and if I pass use that. Thomas Jefferson will accept NET scores from other schools, but will DCCC still say no because of the six week rule. What a stupid rule! specially if you passed but are just trying to improve!! Does anyone know, if I take the NET 3 times at DCCC don't get in with my scores, go to another school that requires the NET will I be able to take it again? Does the NET testing system keep track of how many times you've taken it or just the school?? Right now, I'll try to see if they will let me take again, I might suck it up and apply to Thomas Jefferson for 17,000 a year. OR I could look into LPN programs. I was looking into Folcroft vo-tech and PIT in Media, which require the TEAS. I hear the Math is harder and Reading easier, plus there is a science section to worry about since I have had no science since High School! One day at a time! Maybe its better your 3rd test was eorificed this gives you the chance to bring it up even more!

Anyone who got into DCCC 2008 program, HELP!
Yea, I'm study like crazy! I just don't want to wait till 2010!! And other 2 year programs are so expensive. Thomas Jefferson is like $810 per credit! Harcum is $7000 a semester, and I'm married and for some reason I don't get much aid! I knew the min. scores but just because I get a composite of 65 doesn't mean I will get a seat. I heard they expect over 200 applicants and between they 96 seats for day and 32 seats for weekend. So I figure my score needs to be one of the 132 best, I just don't know what score that is going to be or even what it was last year. It seems a lot of students starting this fall that post on here had composite scores in the 90's, I really wish I knew I had the option of a second chance if I happen to get an 80%, at least I would know I could take it again hopefully bring it up to 90% and feel confident. It also really sucks that they make you wait so long...I think they tell you by May?? Are you currently a student there?
