Hi!
I was just wondering of all the people who got into the program this year, what were your NET scores? Did anyone get in with an 85 composite score or lower?? If so, WHAT WAS YOUR READING AND MATH SCORES? I just took my NET yesterday for the third time and got an 85 composite. Math was a 96 and reading was a 73. I know it could all be different this year, but i was just wondering because i really want to get into the 2009 program!! Anyone and everyone, PLEASE let me know!!!!
Thanks:bow:
I don't know about anybody else but I'm officially nervous now knowing that we have to wait until Jan (maybe?) to hear something!
I am very nervous too!!! Extremely anxious to know if im in or not! And to have to wait untill January, UgG!! Anyways~ i was wondering, what were your NET scores?? i dont think you have posted here b4, so im just curious!!
Hi! I got a 93 composite... 95 in Math and 91 in Reading. I think it was the first time in my life that I ever did better in Math than Reading. I applied for the evening/weekend program and there are less slots available so I hope that's good enough because I had decided that I wasn't going to take it again if I scored at least a 90. Now I'm wondering if I should have. :uhoh21:

Oh Yea, I knew your name looked familiar, I talked to you in the DCCC to Chester post!!!
Hi everyone! My name is Jen and I am new to the forum, what a great place! :) I have a question about (surprise surprise!!) the NET test!:
I applied to DCCC Nursing Chester County program for Fall 09 and had a question about the NET test with the application deadline. I took my first NET test on Sept. 24 and got a 78 and took it again today Nov. 5 and got an 82. Better, but not as good as I had hoped for.
I was wondering the 82 score would not "count" for lack of better words because it is after the Oct. 31 nursing application deadline? Or would I be put on a waiting list? I was under the impression that if you had at least one NET test completed by the Oct. 31 deadline, then you were good. And could retake it two more times if needed to improve your score without it affecting your application. Makes sense to me since they make you wait 6 weeks to take it again for some reason...???
Any help or knowledge about this would be great!
P.S...good news for any prospective DCCC nursing students having trouble with the NET test...I work at Chester County Hospital and talked to an HR/staff development instructor and she said that DCCC is going to be changing it's admission policies soon. Not sure about next year, but hopefully the year after. Admission based on a single NET test seems bogus to me! What about GPA and pre-reqs?!?!

Hi JM24007,
That's a really good questions about the 2nd NET test you took on whether it will count, or would they look at your first score instead. Your best bet woud be to contact Eli Johnson at DCCC and see if he can answer it for you.
I'm curious as well so once you find out, please do share. I'm sure a lot of people are wondering the same thing.
That's good to hear about DCCC changing it's admission policy for the following year. I'm planning to apply in 2010 as the NET was one of the reasons I didn't apply for 2009.
Good Luck!
My idiot advisor wrote back to my e-mail...
"Yes, your most recent score will be used even if it was taken after 10/31. I know priority applications were due by 10/31 so I'm not sure what that means as far as your application. You could check with Maryellen Roy. Hope this helps"
and i get my hopes up until this afternoon I get an e-mail from Eli...
"We will use the scores that where in before the deadline, if they where good enough to be even look at for a seat we use the best ones. Because you taken the test after the deadline we will not use the scores for the priority consideration but to be place on the waiting list. Please refer to the packet."
WHAT THE HELL!?!?!?!?! There is nothing in the packet about the deadline for the NET, only the actual application. My first test before the deadline was good enough to be looked at for a seat but barely (66) but that definitely won't get me a seat. My second test was an 86 and it's going to be put on a waiting list because of some stupid 6 week waiting rule between tests?! This program is really starting to annoy me.
I'm officially screwed over I hope everyone else has better luck. I think I'm going to ask Eli to meet with me.

2ndcareer... me too! I feel like preparing for the test and getting everything else together was such a stress, that now I don't know what to do with myself during the wait.
I have stuff to do, but my mind keeps coming back to getting the results. I guess that's good though, because it shows we really do want to be in the program.
I hope you are well.
