I am finishing up my pre-req's and would love to see if anyone is in the same boat as I am or even in nursing school. Any advice would be much appreciated!
Here are 3 from people applying for Jan 10 and Aug 09

I have to mention even though I feel like it has probably been stated ad nauseum...I think this all the time.
This application period (Fall 2010) is very tough to gauge because we are the first group to apply with TEAS scores. I wonder if and/or how this applicant pool will affect PHCC's future groups moving forward.. I wonder if the school will feel the need to implement more steps in their admission process (ie- 1st TEAS, 2nd pre-req GPA, 3rd county of residence...next, perhaps any co-reqs completed with GPA? Does the applicant have another degree? What is the applicant's overall GPA? Should there be an interview process? What about volunteer hours?)
I just got home from Ethics, am enjoying a lovely glass of red wine, and over-thinking entirely too much :) lol
Wow, I didn't get any of these updates in my e-mail. But anyway, yeah this term will be really hard to gauge who will get in because of the new test. Chris, I think you should take PSY this summer, that way you can apply earlier. If you get in for Fall, oh well, at least you covered your bases!
PS, does it make me a freak that I check my mail every day even this early? lol
So, let's say we will get our letters on July 8th... (Also my birthday, but ANYWAY :biggringi lol) So that leaves us 34 days until we know. I think I'll make a list of something to do everyday to pass the time a little more easily. Maybe I will go to the gym more often so I can become more accustomed to being on my feet for hours at a time since my desk job sure isn't doing it!
I am going to take ENG comp before I take it for the 3rd time! and I went to SPC yesterday to see about taking courses there (no TEAs, YET...they are going there, too!) I would have FIVE more classes to take, with MY luck, they would have the TEAs as soon as I was done! I am HATING this test, it's SOOOOO hard, some stuff on it, you aren't even required to take! (Physics, ***!!!) P.S. I am DONE with all my PRE's and almost all my CO's, got a 3.45, in PHI Thetta Kappa, and I failed the last time by 3.7 points on ENGLISH portion!!!
Hey guys,
I am sure I seem so weird posting so frequently on this board when I have already been accepted, but I was in your boat just a year ago and nobody reached out to help me. So.....As far as hospitals go I only know about East Campus. The options are Pasco Regional or Florida Hospital Zephyrhills depending which instructor you have. I don't know about West Campus, sorry. Sponsorships are great if you want one and yo can usually get one at any point during the program. It involves the hospital paying your costs, you working like 8 to 12hrs a month as a PCT during school, and a contract for work after licensure (depends on how much school they paid for). Also you usually find out which instructor/hospital you are in at the orientation. There was quite a bit of negotiation for switching hospitals at my orientation. Check into sponsorships early if you want one....they only give out so many a semester. Good luck to all!
I've been hearing that you and MJ have NOTHING to worry about. LOL!!("I KID, I KID"
LOL!! Thanks Chris I wish I had confidence in myself like that! Anyway, I think taking PSY this summer is a great way for you to get your A! I know you can do it! :) Lots of times professors are more easy going during the summer courses because they know it's excellerated and try to cut students a break. Goodluck!!!
Sam- Thanks so much for that info! If I get an acceptance letter I will definitely try to get a sponorship at one of the hospitals that offer them. It's a win win situation! :)
Did any of you get psyched out with that Ambassadors Program letter that PHCC mailed out? lol I sure did! I can't wait any longer I just want to know!!!!!
Chris, I can't send out pm's yet because I don't have 15 posts, but yup I'm in your Micro class! I sit in the front behind my friend Christina and I talk alot so you probably hear or see me. I was wearing a ruffled jean skirt and I have longish brown hair. I'm in the afternoon lab. How about you?

("I KID, I KID" FWIW, if you search, there are a few posts where people have posted what they got and you can track if they got in - NET scores tho, which I hear are about 10 pts higher, on average, than TEAS scores) Now, let's move on to me, since I am the one who is having to regroup. Ha!!!
OK here are my options:
1). Take the risk and take PSY for 5w this summer, chancing I get an A, even though I am taking micro and lab also. Then I will have a 3.7 and can apply with that for Spring.
2). Take PSY in the fall, online, and then be ready to apply for fall 2011 with a 3.7 (Another year of waiting. Ugh.)
3). Do nothing, cry like a baby and drown my rejected sorrows up at the Brass Tap
