I know they said they the next step (interview) won't be till November, but I was wondering, has anyone gotten any response from them so far? Any email besides the acknowledgment after sending your application?

Also, for those who have recently gone through the process, what are your tips to GET THE JOB? .. or what were some of the questions asked during the interview?

any info will help. THANKS IN ADVANCE!

GOOD LUCK TO ALL!

Either way congratulations to all who made it, I think it's awesome....As I said just make sure you have all your I's dotted and T's crossed, because you will be watched by the ones who didn't get in, trust me when I say this because I've seen it. Thanks! They extended offers to 6 people, they're obviously dependent on if we pass the NCLEX or not. Did you meet with the manager? I may have seen you on my way in/out if so. I don't necessarily think its BSN or ADN that made the difference, I honestly think its having precepted there. They really get to know you that way and I have heard from the people working in the department that they really take into account how they feel about externs and other students that are assigned there.

I honestly am surprised I got even this far, I assumed everyone who was licensed already and had all their certs would get the offers. I was completely shocked when they called, I was prepared for a rejection letter and I almost did not apply to Sharp because I figured my chances were so slim with so many applicants, including ones like yourself who are far more prepared than I, to start this program. So I am feeling definitely pretty lucky, maybe I should buy a lotto ticket. :)

They offered all the positions to students?

crazy Thanksgiving gift. I got offered an New Grad position in the ED at Chula Vista tonight. Now on to study for the NCLEX. Crazy crazy!

Congrats to everyone who got a position. It was really tough, I feel really blessed and lucky. I think the key was to really put yourself out there during the preceptorship. They made a comment about that during my initial interview, so it was really nice to know that someone noticed how hard I was trying to help everyone out. :)

Just keep applying everyone, we'll all get the positions we want, it may just take longer than we had hoped. Good luck everybody!! And Happy Thanksgiving!!

Congrats! I've read back threads when you were just starting nursing school and now here you are with your first job:yeah::yeah::yeah:

Thanks!!! I checked my email and I didn't see your email :( Was it my OU email? I emptied my PM box haha, so you can send it there instead if you want. :)

Hi Boogeysmom,

I wanted to congratulate you on getting a job :yeah: As a fellow OU student from SD, I am so happy for you. I have been reading your posts since the start of the OU thread. I am near the end of my third semester (last final on Wed) and I feel that I am at that scary transition phase now. How can I send you a message? I know I can't PM yet :( I just want advice as to where to go from here from another OU student.

Good luck studying for NCLEX and have a wonderful holidays. :)

Hi!!

Thanks so much! How exciting to be almost done with 3rd. That was a real challenge for me/us since it was in the summer. Good luck on your last final!! I think I can PM you and I can send you my email addy. I'm happy to help! :)

Hey guys. I just got offered a new grad position at Sharp Grossmont in their residency program. I'm so happy and blessed. I was pretty sure I wouldn't get offered a job because I thought I did terribly on my interview but they must've liked me. To all those who have interviews and/or are still waiting and applying, never give up and good luck. Have faith. I've been applying for 3 months and look what happened. :yeah:

Congrats Carlyfry!! How are you liking the residency program so far? How many other new grads were hired with you?

I am planning to apply to Sharp Grossmont's residency program for Summer 2010 and just wanted to get some insights on it. You had a phone interview and an in-person interview right? What did you do to prepare for it? What kind of questions did they ask? Sorry for so many questions, but I'm just curious and really itching for this job :)

Thanks in advance!
