I took the NCLEX yesterday and it also shut off at 75 questions... :o I'm also wondering if anyone has failed with 75 questions?!? When I was leaving the testing site, the women told me that the percentage of people who pass with only 75 questions is high, so what to think?! How do you feel you did!??! Keep us posted!

I thought it was very hard. I graduated at the top of my class and I felt like there wasn't a single question that I was 100% sure of the answer. I guess we'll have to wait and see! Good luck to you!

Thanks! Good luck to you, too! I hear what you are saying.....I was a pretty good student and felt the same way - there were probably a handful that I was 100% sure on, maybe not even that many....I just can't stand this waiting!!! Hang in there!

I just graduated in December - of a class of 40, at least 10 that I know of had 75 questions and passed. I did however know one person who also had 75 and did not. So....you have at least a 90% chance based on our experience. Hope this helps

Yes, lots of people fail with 75 questions. If there is no chance of passing the computer will shut off at 75 questions.

I think though more people pass with 75 questions than fail. So the odds are in your favor.

Good luck to you.

Thanks for the encouragement! I hope you did well and passed your exam.

You have a statistically greater chance of succeeding if it stops at 75. For it to stop at 75, this means the computer knew at that point that you either passed or failed; this means EITHER the test-taker demonstrated the minimal amount of required knowledge to be a registered nurse, OR the test-taker was waaayyyyy off base & knew very little. Most test-takers study & know at least the general stuff & can score in the average range, which usually results in having more than 75 questions; very few people fail miserably, ie. have the computer stop at 75 & fail. The vast majority of test-takers require more than 75 questions before the computer program can really determine with certainty that the test-taker either knows the stuff or doesn't.

Thanks for the info! I'm crossing my fingers. I'll probably have to wait until Monday to find out! Going crazy.

Mine shut off at 76!!! I thought Good Grief, 76? Why not 75?

I did find out the next day that I had passed. We can find out in ususally 48-72 hours, but mine was about 32 hours.
