I also saw that before but i chose to go to a travel agency that gave me a good price for may..i think if your exam is on march you ask the travel agency's i think they hav lower prices for low season rate try to search nlang...april-may are peak season which means prices of hotels are bit higher .. my sister told me you can also try asiarooms.com to compare the prices of the hotels...hope this helps.

From my research, Travel agencies are ideal if you are taking the exam alone since they charge you with the accommodation per head.

While as for Online Hotel reservation networks, their rate is per Room for a maximum of 1-2 occupants.

Asiarooms.com and other online bookings charged a bit higher compared to HotelTravel.com.

Btw I'll be traveling with a companion and will finalize my bookings in a week or less.

I'm still not closing my doors, just taking some time to browse other offers.

Thanks for sharing and I look forward on those who have already taken their exams at Hong Kong to provide more insights.

I've used HotelTravel.com and I didn't have any problem at all. However, you should also check with Asiarooms.com as sometimes they have a lower room rate for the same hotel. Bookings at both sites are per room and not per pax as with other agencies.

Stress is always there when taking any exam but its something you can prevent from happening. You just have to be prepared from everything and see to it that you cover those areas of topic completely. Also, a good lead time before the exam date and spreading your review equally will give you more focus.

Btw, can you suggest tourist places to visit while in HK (aside from Disneyland and Ocean park)? We plan to go around as many as we could.

Go visit THE PEAK,wax museum,CAUSEWAYBAY.MONgkok,electronics ave,ladies market,Toys r US,and of course "the different alley or side small side road where they sell cheap products.But you will be surprised....goods here in divisoria and greenhills is a lot cheaper.Bring extra water as bottled water is expensive in Hongkong.A decent meal will cost you around $HK 17 .And theres a mall there where Filipinos hang out...theres "pasa load"sari sari stores,celfones,LBC

There dont serve rice at MCDONALDS, NO gravy for KFC chicken..only on mashed potato.(they provide you with disposable plastic gloves while you eat),and most people eat there by the bucket!!!geezz..The COKE in can looks peculiar.And their ice blocks are small(like mini marbles)unlike here where they are shaped like tubes.

The hotel will ask for your credit card and swipe it as

sort of a deposit for any damage you might incur but they will not let you sign it... as soon you check out they will cut/tear the receipt in front of you.I stayed with Guandong Hotel....no regrets..goodluck to us

Did you see some fastfoods there like cafe de coral in kowloon is that fastfood joint still existing coz my friend told me the fastfood was being renovated but im not sure. my hotel is in central park hotel and im looking for cheap and delicious foods near my hotel or i can go by mtr to kowloon. Another thing is central park hotel near the testing site? can i go there by walking..how many minutes is the walk...thanks

Yes, that fast food joint is all over and not just in Kowloon.

Central Park is just about 7 min. walk to the testing site and there's a nearby McDonald's (not as affordable as in the Phils.) in-between the hotel and the test center.

Great results with www.asiahotels.com

Preferred them over many of the others, and the prices were great. Significant difference between booking with them and the hotel directly.

They have reviews of all of the hotels, both for HK, as well as any of the other centers. They are not specific to only one country in Asia as many are.

I stayed at the Ramada (Hongkong Island). The area right around the vicinity of the hotel is very quite so you can relax and calm yourself before the exam. It's walking distance to the exam site but if you dont want ot be huffing and puffing when you get there, you can always take the tram which conveniently stops right in front of the hotel. They did not ask for a credit card imprint or a deposit and the room that we had (my sister went with me) was relatively big considering that most HK hotel rooms are quite small. The hotel food sucks but you can always go out to eat.

With regards to sightseeing, I would suggest you go to Lantau Island where the Giant Buddha is located. This is a definite must see. It's on the same island as Disneyland but for you to truly appreciate the Lantau trip, it would be advisable to alot a day for it.
