i just graduated last monday. :mortarboard: i am going to take excell nursing review, but also trying to study on my own. i want you to ask which edition of saunders are you guys talking about? i have 2nd edition with cd also and i am also using 3500 study questions by Lippincott. any suggestions? thank you in advance...

I'm using 3rd edition here.

ok , I do study mode on all the categories at once.(instead of check marking one category I check mark them all) When I was doing my 100 questions for the day I kept track of the wrong answers then lets say you get 20 wrong and 80 right. they you take .....100-20=80 then divide that by 100 and you get your score. make sense?

Thanks Amy for reply. by the way I'm studying from Saunder's 2 nd edition, i guess that's why mine doesn't work by doing all categories @ one time I have to do only one @ a time. but, at least now i now how to score my level from study mode too. I pray to God that we both will pass our boards @ one time.:lol2:

I am scheduled to take NCLEX late June. I've been studying Mosby's note cards (which I highly recommend), but tonight I started doing the Saunder's CD...some of those questions are quite challenging..

I used Saunders CD and book. I did the 100 questions a day for about 3 weeks before the test, scoring 75-80% and I just got my NCLEX results. I Passed!!! I did it in 85 questions. Saunders really really helped, especially w/ the lab values and endocrine which I always seemed to screw up.

i find the saunder's rationals to be well thought out and clearly explained. sauders sets the standard in nclex prep materials, imo. and very reasonably priced.

I've been praticing with the Saunders also. I also have the Mosby's and the Kaplan, but I've gotten the best scores with the Saunders.

I m using saunders 3rd ed, Gosh...I bought Lippincott, Kaplan, Mosby and also Kaplan Med Flip book.

But I think Only saunders helped me...I m following Suzzanne;s study guide.

My exam is on coming Thursday..May 25th..Plz plz Pray for me...

I've been using Saunders, edition 2 since I started school 2 years ago. I recently bought Saunders 3 since my biggest weakness is "check all that apply" question. I've been averaging 80% except in pediatrics so I'm focussing on that area right now. I'm not sure if I should go for any other study tools or not. ?

AmyD,

78% on Saunders is great!!!! I was scoring about 65% in Saunders just before I took the NCLEX and I passed and am now a working RN!!!! But I would caution just using one source because I found I did better once I got used to the style of question which is why I used at least 5-7 different sources. Because all the NCLEX books in the world are nothing like the NCLEX itself. I would highly recommend Kaplan in addition to Saunders. Saunders is a good review but Kaplans does a lot of good test taking strategies and has challenging questions. I also used a CAT program through Mosby's. I thought the questions were a bit easier but it was a good confidence builder because it gives you a probability of passing and shuts off when it makes a decision similar to what happens during the NCLEX.
