I got my acceptance back in the beginning of November for this fall (2011) . I just gave them my deposit today to hold my place in the program! I am SO excited!! I can't wait to get the necessary paperwork and find out what I need to do (background check, immunization proof, etc.). But it feels like FOREVER before I'm actually going to start there! I feel like I'm inbetween, like I'm not pre-nursing anymore but I'm not in the actual nursing classes yet, lol...(btw,when do/did you change that status on here?).
I have stalked the schools website, reading/re-reading the program/course descriptions, tried looking up the books I'll be needing...you name it I've searched for it, haha. Not to mention the many hours I've spent an allnurses reading through threads about preparing for ns and what the must haves are, which then lead me to compile a list of these necessities, lol. I even went as far as to go to websites and pick out exactly what watch, stethoscope, backpack, planner, etc. that I want! (I know, I'm a little obsessive )
So who else is with me?! Has anyone else already gotten acceptance for the fall and now has the looong wait to actually start? What are you gonna do in the mean time?
I am a mother of two little girls (3 and 1.5) so they will surely keep me busy! I am also going to continue to take classes at the CC in hopes of starting as a sophomore (BSN program).

I was never able to have downtime inbetween classes...I went straight from graduating with my first bachelor's degree into nursing school, didn't even have the summer off! If I did have time inbetween, I would have worked to save as much money as possible because now in my program, I am not able to have a job outside of school and it pains me to not be able to make money!!! But with your two girls, time with them is precious. Just enjoy them and cherish the free time you have now. And congrats.

I also start NS in September! I am in the last 5 weeks on my last 2 prerequisites. I don't have any children to keep me busy, so I picked up a part time nanny job and also ordered some books to review. I ordered 2 NCLEX, a medical terminology, and a medical math book. I am also planning on brushing up on my AP skills. I figured it can't hurt to get a head start! Good luck...

Wow! I am doing the same thing! I start my program in August.. I actually found out last May that id be waitlisted for the 2010 program but accepted for the 2011 program. Since then iv been doing the exact same thing as you. I have a list of books that I have found on allnurses that seem to be helpful for school, I have my sethoscope picked out, my watch, I have my appt to be fitted for my uniforms and my physical appt scheduled. I cannot wait to start. Best of luck to you!
MAN! That is a LOONNNGG wait. I have been really lucky. I got all of pre-reqs done in one year. I have from mid March to September to wait. Our school does not have a waitlist. They accept 50-60 applicants!

Hi, I just got my acceptance letter two days ago and will start this fall. I am taking some prereqs in the meantime. I applied to two more schools, to hear from my first choice school, I have to wait until end of April. I got acppted to my second choice school, so I won't bother with the third choice. The diffrence between the first and the second one is the tuition. Anyhow, I am taking Anatomy and Physiology classes(400 level) for my bachelor's degree eventhough I had AP combination before to help me prepare for the nursing school. Because I got acepted to the accelerated program, I worry about the pace of the classes etc. This forum is really good place to get some advice on almost anyhing that is related to nursing. I am going to be a regular visitor.
