Anyone else waiting

Published

hello everyone, pls does anyone apply to any of the nhmcd colleges. i wanted to know when the acceptance letters are suppose to be sent out for the fall entry. i feel like i have been waiting forever. anyone out there waiting too?

Hi everyone!!

I to, would like any info on the RN/LVN point system.. Anyone know the cutoff for LVN.. Im seriously considering trying the LVN and then articulate to RN-BSN.. or just straight BSN the way this is going, ya know!! Thanks for all inout! what about Cy-Fair... anyone have any #'s for them?

I dont know the point cutoff but I do know that kingwood and cyfair have a fall start and they have more slots than mont. the deadline to apply is MARCH 31 so hurry up and get started ASAP!!! I think what your thinking about is a great idea. that is what i am going to do... Im ready to get started and If I wait till I get in to the rn program i might be waiting a LONG time

I think the cut off for North Harris may go down from a 11.2 because many ppl who applied to NHMCCD would have also applied to BSN programs and some of these ppl may have gotten into the BSN programs.

These students will therefore cancel their acceptance to NHMCCD and therefore slots lower down the points pole will open up.

I am so hoping that the cutoff for NH is not 11.2 and that it goes down at least slightly. As stated previously my sister has a 11.0 for NH and Mont. and about a 11.4 for Tomball. I love her so much and she is upset and looking at my points to compare with her own. I told her she can't do that bc i am just one of over 800 applicants. If the cutoff for all 3 colleges is 11.2 to 11.5 then her 11.4 for tomball is looking really good. I have not told her the info. i have heard online bc i don't want to discourage even more. I am fairly confident in my score but i want her to get in also. We started school together and i am hoping we finish together.

I called the college yesterday (Mont.) and asked if i needed to give them my new email address...they said no and at this point if we are contacted it will be by phone or mail.....he said that yesterday (Thur.) all 3 of the ND are meeting together to go over the canidates and to make their decision....:uhoh3: he said they will make their final choices and letters will be going out the first week in April. So only 2 more weeks tops to wait......

All 3 colleges have the same point system just because the math is still on the application does not mean they are using it. More than likely her points are the same for all 3. colleges. I know how you feel I met a friend when I started a couple of years ago and we do everything together. but her points are higher than mine. With an 11. she might be on the alternate list.... I wish both of you luck and I hope y'all are put together

Ok, first of all, good afternoon everyone!!

Ok, so please excuse this stupid question, however, im so confused. How do you guys get these gpas? (11.21 or 11.96) I thought it was a solid point system, with 4 being the highest in each category.. please clue me in, im a newbie..

Also, anyone know anything about HCC? everything I have read so far isnt that great?? I know its a drive, but maybe an option??

you are probably right about all 3 colleges using the same pt. system... i am just grabbing to any kind of hope for her (my sister).... i don't care if we are accepted to the same adn program just as long as she gets in somewhere. It's hard when your sister wants this as badly as you do and when my odds are greater than hers. As you well know every tenth of a point counts in this crazy race.

Congrats!!!!! on placing #2 alternate....You WILLL for sure get bumped up to an opened seat....alot of people applied for both the adn and lvn so your odds at #2 alt. is looking sweet!!!!:yeah: :balloons:

4 possible pts in 3 categories:

1. gpa in a&p, psyc., and eng. = 1-4 possible pts.

2. amt. of completed prereqs = 1-4 possible pts.

(27-31 credits will give you 4 pts)

3. Hesi reading comp score divided by 25 which is where most people are

getting the 11.24 or 11.65.

Ex.- scored a 88 on hesi; divided by 25; gives you a 3.52

Add them all together for a possible of 12 max. score. I hope this helps.

I have heard that HCC had some problems in the past but have revised those problems. Are you wanting to apply to the adn or bsn or have you already applied?

Ok, thank you for clarifying that for me.. SOrry to sound so stupid.. I didnt look at the paperwork yet.. geez.. THere is so much information, and each college is a little different, and well, ya know... I think I want to do ADN.. I will have 30 credits as of the end of summer, so I plan to apply for spring of 07.. Has everyone started/finished their Heb b series? I, thank god, am finished with that.. If this wait goes on and on, I seriously will think about CLEPING some courses and apply there.. How long have you guys been waiting for the ADN programs? also, LVN is a thought to, and bridging over--Im a little in limbo right now..

You are very welcome. I still have to take the 3rd hep B in the middle of april and then that will be complete. This is my first time to apply for the adn bc i waited until i had all my prereqs out of the way....i had heard the odds of getting in w/o all of them is virtually impossible. I would for sure apply for spring 07 bc you will have almost all of your prereqs out of the way. So what colleges are you planning on applying too? I was going to apply for the LVN but didn't bc i hadn't taken the hesi yet. Have you taken the hesi yet or waiting? Good luck in your decision...i'm feeling your agony.

Still WAITING on the LETTER!!!!!!!!!!

Just to let ya know i recieved my letter yesterday along with my friend so you should be getting yours anyday now!!! Goodluck, oh by the way me and my friend did not get in to the adn program so ther points must have been pretty high because she was a little under an 11. But thats ok we start the lvn program in May so atleast we will be able to start and work our way to the transition of becoming an rn... :) I wish you the best and keep us posted
