  1. I agree with u Meghan that it depends on the area u are. I am planning to start nursing skool in the fall. Although i use to work in the hospital as a cna and i loved it and yes it can be hard sometimes. there have been times when the nurses have 7 or 8 patients and it makes it hard for the nurses to care for all their patients. I have also noticed while workin there that nowadays people become nurses for the money not the heart to care for someone else. I have actually heard a nurse make that comment before. This nurse ended up quitting becos she was a nurse for the wrong reason. Yes it was really challenging working there, becos cnas have 17patients max to one person . But overall i did not leave becos of the stress but becos i wanted to go to skool full time and get all my prereqs done on time. I love to be a nurse one day becos caring 4 someone else only tells them that they are not alone. There is always the good and then the bad day, and days u just want to walk out the door, but one thing i always tell myself is that nothing good comes easy. Goodluck to all the present, past and almost nurses on this website. God bless
  2. well safe journey
  3. sorry i spelt your user name wrong Aussiepupowner
  4. hey aussieowner, we are both going to be in the same class because i registered for the same days and time. I am lucky that i do not have to buy the textbook because my aunt has the exact same text. Goodluck on your vacation and see you in class.
  5. The Hesi test is just like the Net test but it is called Hesi instead. I took it before at Kingwood college and it includes basic maths like fractions, decimals, add, subtraction, percents, and division. and reading. Another reminder if you have not taken pharmarcology, you need to email the nursing dept to register you because it fills up really fast.I just emailed them today and they have sent me the list of classes available to register for. Goodluck
  6. I am not sure but i think you still have to take the Hesi test, because their requirement for the program was to have either the Act/Sat exam or have a degree. I have a degree in art from Hcc and I still have to take the Hesi.
  7. Hi everyone, there has been a new system update for hcc adn program. Before one can get into the program. one has to take the Hesi test. A friend told me about this because her husband works at hcc, but i wanted to be sure so i called the adn department myself, and I was told that as long as you have not been accepted into the program you have to take the test. This information has not been posted yet, because it was effective last week friday, the 21st. I even asked them that what if you already have a degree, but they said everyone will have to take it. Thought i should give you all a head start.
  8. Hello AussiePupOwner, Congrats for being offered pharmarcology. u are very close getting into the program. i turned in my application in Jan and i was told to call back in May to register to take pharmacology in summer. i cannot wait. I do not know of anyone that has taken if during summer but if u can make it to this point then you can do it. Do not think of it as wasting your time. keep a positive mind. Goodluck to u.

  11. Hi everyone, If anyone is interested in the adn program for Cy-Fair. On the website there is a posting saying that the board of nursing might be increasing the number of students into the program .50 students into the fall 06 and spring 07. but it is still pending, but if it is approved then the application will be available on May 1 and deadline will be May 30. And also all three of the hepatitis shot must have been taken. So whoever is interested should check the cy-fair website constantly for updated info. http://www.cy-faircollege.com . This is only for cy-fair college.
  12. Thank you guys for the reply. I guess we just have to wait. I do not know my total point. are we suppose to figure the points ourselves or the school tells us? anyways i wish you all goodluck.
  13. hello everyone, pls does anyone apply to any of the nhmcd colleges. i wanted to know when the acceptance letters are suppose to be sent out for the fall entry. i feel like i have been waiting forever. anyone out there waiting too?
  14.
