I have my first lecture exam on Monday. It covers chapters 1-4, which is basically intro to A&P:body regions, directional terminology, chemistry review, cells, and Histology. Is anyone else at the same point in A&P? An online study group would be great. I would appreciate links to any good sites for these topics too. Thanks.

I am in the same boat, same place and everything. I would be up for an online study group, maybe by IM or something. Somethings that I have recently found VERY helpful are the notes from the thread that is stickied at the top here on AP and there is also a link to a site that has podcasts on the last page of that same thread-SO HELPFUL! She does a better job explaining than my prof plus it has pics for the histology and you can pause it and take notes to fill in what you have.
Let me know, and we can work something out. My test got pushed back to the 30th but I really need to get to studying the subsequent chapters again.

Same here! First exam on Monday but we are also covering bone, since he lectured on it on Wednesday.
Had our first lab practical last week.

I also have my first lab exam/practical on Monday, covering the same stuff. I'm not too terribly nervous though. Hopefully we all do well. I'm really aiming for an A in this class. I think I'm going to try to study for a few more hours then try to get a few before the exams. They start at 8 a.m.

good luck to all who are taking exams this week (myself included). our lecture material parallels meghan's. i am nervous, though, because this is the first exam and sometimes you just don't know what to expect from a new instructor.
I should say I'm in anatomy, not A&P. My school separates anatomy and physiology for some reason.
That said, the test was hard. I think I got all the questions right, but there were a couple that gave me pause. I'm glad to know how he tests now, I hate that first test in a course when you have no idea what to expect.
Hope everyone does/did well on their tests! I made a 91 so I'm really happy. I'm hoping to get an "A" in this class because we're on a point system that awards points for entry into the nursing program and an "A" in this class is worth 30 points out of 250. We started integument and bones in lab today. Our next lecture test will be on the integumentary system, bone tissue and physiology, skeletal system, and articulations. It's scheduled for a month from now. Our teacher warned us today that A&P was about to get harder. I'm wondering "how is that even possible?".

I'm taking A&P1 this fall, but I have to tell that what you are going through looks like hell to me. I haven't had a test on my A&P lecture class. The first one is schedule for the 9th of next month and my A&P Lab class cannot be easier. In the Lab I have a quiz every class since we meet once in a week, and until this moment I have had only A's. However, I know this is not a game and that I have to study, which I don't do because I have a serious problem with procrastination, so I would love to start a study group as well. I don't know how to...like some1 said we could do it by msn, maybe Hotmail, or yahoo. Take a pick. Just let me know what you've decided please. :)

Study group would be heavenly! Our 1st exam on cell biology, tissues, body planes & the integumentary system is on Thursday. 150 questions, very info dense. I really feel like this course is no joke! Ah well, good times...:heartbeat
Our teacher was really great though by posting a gang of links to different sites to help us comprehend. We'll see how it goes though.
I'm not sure how we should set a study group up, some have mentioned IMing, (which sounds great but you'll have to tell me how to do it exactly). If you have experience, or just some ideas let me know. I was thinking we could just each post a couple of questions for everyone to try and answer, kind as a review/pretest, (at least for now). Also if anyone is having any trouble understanding a concept they could just ask, and everyone can try to explain it to them.
Since some are still working toward their first test. Why don't we all post 2-3 introductory questions and see how it goes. Then we can start working on the bones/integement in a couple of days.
Everyone who can please answer, and then post (at least) a couple of your own. Thanks! (and good luck with your tests).

Hi guys I was thinking that we may use a chat room to discuss this subjects....I just created one in AnatomyandPhysiology_Study_Group chat group - This is an online study group
This is a private chat room and only members are allowed. You may have to create an account to access the site, but it's free. Then let me know your user names and I will add you. I hope this will help...we may have to set certain hours to meet...I don't know..Ideas are welcome.
