Is there anyone else out there who is currently studying for the CCRN exam and would like to start a thread as perhaps a study and support group? I have just applied for the exam and have not yet set a date, but about in 3 months is when I will be taking it. I would love to be in communication with others in the same boat! I hope there is at least one other nurse out there! Thanks!

Sorry for responding so late. Well, I am not sure if it is an issue of mastery, but, I just did the AACN practice exam and passed with a 70% (barely!). I scored 80-100% on all other areas except for cardiac, where I made a 65%. I seem to have trouble with 12 lead ekg changes related to MI and recognizing where the MI occur (anterio, LAD occlusion, yada, yada). Its strange because these are not hard concepts. I did skip them during my review because I find them to be a little confusing and cannot seem to find a way to actually learn them. Oh well, I'm going to watch LAura's DVD and hope it sticks!
hey everyone,
i too am looking into taking the ccrn. does anyone know how long does the whole application process take and what are the recomendations for studying. i was thinking about 3 months prep while working full time. so my plan is to hopefully take it in jan. when should i apply ? thanks
I just applied online. I applied on a Monday and received the e-mail on a Wednesday or Thursday after to be able to sign up for my exam. So, the application process for me took 3 days.
And once you have your approval to schedule your exam, you have a 90 day timeframe to schedule it within.
You should have it by now. I applied to take the exam on Monday and got my notice I can schedule my exam on Thursday. I haven't received anything in the mail yet, but I did receive an e-mail from AMP Customer Service, so you may want to check your e-mail filters or spam inbox to make sure you didn't miss it!!I finally decided to just get it scheduled so I'll have a deadline as motivation to study! :)
PS - I applied online, and did not send in a paper application, so this may only apply to online applications...it was FAST! You should maybe call AACN to check on the status because once you're approved you have 90 days to take it without extension fees.
I'm an idiot who doesn't know how to check her email.
I've got my test scheduled. I'm kind of stressing, but trying not to.
Hi, love-d-or
I found a post from you in another thread regarding registry hiring new grads. I just obtained my license late September in Los Angeles and can't find a new grad program. I was thinking of signing up with a registry but the ones I called so far require at least 1 year experience. You mentioned that you know some that hire new grads. If it's not too much of an imposition, can you help me out? I am desperate for a job - how does one gain experience if nobody would hire us?

Hey, guys I'm still hesitant to set my date. I've taken the pass CCRN exam test twice and got a 65% and 68%. Most of my errors were on cardiac, I'm scared. I dont want to have to push this past october, but I really Im starting to loose it! any pointers? Unlike most of you I am actually reading the book (not every page), but also doing questions daily.
