Is there anyone else out there who is currently studying for the CCRN exam and would like to start a thread as perhaps a study and support group? I have just applied for the exam and have not yet set a date, but about in 3 months is when I will be taking it. I would love to be in communication with others in the same boat! I hope there is at least one other nurse out there! Thanks!

Ok, I have just read through everyone of these messages and just purchased the Gasparis Vonfrolio DVDs and Pass CCRN. I have been wanting to do this for a long time and all of you have inspired me to go for it. I have been an ICU nurse for 13 years and did 2 years in cardiac step-down before that. Eight years in a med/surg ICU and the last 5 years in trauma/neuro/surgical ICU.
Assuming I get all of my materials in about a week, what should my timeline be as far as studying/taking the test? How long did most of you prepare?

If I recall, you have a 3 month window in which to schedule your exam, once you apply to take it. With your vast experience, that will be plenty of time if you spend an hour or so a day preparing. I am sure that others will respond with their timelines as well.....
Welcome to our little group of CCRN's!!!

You WILL be successful, there is no doubt about it!!
Hey graduate_2002!!! Tomorrow is your date, is it not??? How are you feeling?
I know you are going to pass!!!, just go in confident and remember don't let those 25 unanswerable questions rattle you!! You are already a CCRN certified nurse!! You have done all the preparation, now just go in there and get through this last leg of your journey. Also, what are you going to do to reward yourself?? Very important that you do something to acknowledge your hard work and commitment!!!
Sending you good wishes and white light!! Let us know....Go for it sister!!!

I will check in tomorrow and let you know how it went, thanks for the inspiration
