Anyone else applying to UAB NP program for Summer 2015?

I recently submitted my application to UAB FNP program starting May 2015. Just wondering if anyone else has applied as well?? If so, from which state do you live? I am from NE Florida. I hope to meet/network with other prospective students for this program. Though I'm excited it's an online program, I think I will miss the peer to peer banter! Fingers crossed on acceptance!

I received an email from a department head stating the admission committee has already met. They are now making the decisions by speciality. Hopefully soon!!!!

Did they gave you any more details? Does the admission committee weed some applications out initially before it goes to the specialty areas?

That is all she said.....I emailed her a question about changing my concentration. Here is the email:

Dear Shane,

"The Admission Committee has already met and decisions are being discussed based on the concentrations that were chosen. I am afraid it is too late to change right now. If you are admitted, you can apply for a Change in Concentration. This will be discussed further in the New Student Orientation."

Thats good news for us waiting. In all reality it shouldn't take them but a day or so for decisions based on the concentrations. Not so good news for you though @canwil2082 since you were wanting to change concentrations. You applied for FNP right? What were you wanting to change to?

I thought about nursing administration. After speaking with my mentor, she said if I got in it would be best to stay in the FNP track. So I will pursue the FNP with all I have got if I get in.

Thanks Canwil for emailing.. Well it seems it will be another week at least so I will email on Thursday or Friday and see what I hear. Let you know as soon as I do. Until then... happy nerves to every one!!! The anticipation is a lot to bear but we are almost there!!!

LOL was at work today! But i did check Blazernet a couple times.... no change here either I promise, ya'll with be some of the 1st to know once I do have a change! ;-)

Hey everyone!! I checked today as well, then I emailed UAB program manager. I stated I was concern after not hearing anything after week six n when should I expect to hear from them.

Her response we will receive final letter in two weeks. Nothing more. Just that sorry.

So we have more time to worry and post.

But since we are going to be doing this a few more weeks where is everyone from. Not sure if we did that already; I live in north Ga.
