  1. Thanks for your reply Journey! It is much appreciated
  2. Hi! I had a teaching presentation, peer interview, and interview with the school of nursing dean on yesterday. I am pretty sure (95%) that I got the job. The dean told me she had to get the faculty's feedback but felt sure my background and certifications fit the position perfectly, she even mapped out the job description for me. I am so excited, a smidge disappointed in the salary and will try to counter offer once it is formally offered to me! Hopefully the 4 faculty members I presented and peer interviewed with liked me! can anyone offer any advice for 1st year as an educator? What was your beginning salary? I am working on my DNP, but am not there yet. Thanks! Amanda
  3. Thank you professorcait!! Since you took their advice to heart, what types of active learning activities are you using now as an instructor??
  4. I am considering entering into the world of nursing education. I already have my "foot in the door" as an adjunct clinical instructor for BSN students, and have enjoyed it so much I am considering applying for a full time position. It is possible that the interview process where I am considering teaching is meeting/talking with the current faculty members as well as a "mini teaching presentation". For those of you who have been through this process, what can I expect with the mini teaching experience? Any advice moving forward? Thanks!
  5. I took Hollier live review before the beginning of the semester, also my NP program required us to do the online Barkley review, which also came with the CDs and books. Also I took 3 predictor exams from APEA and the AANP practice test the week before I took AANP. I feel like the APEA exams and AANP practice Test were most helpful. Reading the rationales and driving them out for me was most helpful. I also listed to my weaker areas again with the Barkley review Modules and CDs. Good luck!
  6. Congrats!!! I am taking this exam hopefully within the next week. How long did it take you to get your ATT?
  7. bumping post.....
  8. Wondering the same. However I have heard that Leik and APEA are very similar to the AANP exam.
  9. If you took Hollier's review course, reach out to her. She made it a point to tell us in the review I took from her, that if someone failed, to contact her and she would personally make a remediation plan and study plan.
  10. No, I am not at Vandy. I am at a different university with a dual NP program. Actually, my school has approved us to take our board certifications before our degree is awarded. The program director is submitting info on eligibility to the certifying body. Once all info is received by the certifying body, how long does it take to receive the ATT (auth to test).
  11. Did you ever find a program? I highly recommend UAB's WHNP program. The instructors are wonderful! They do require travel to campus for orientation and usually once a year for onsite intensives.
  12. Dual Adult Gero Primary Care NP and WHNP. But that doesn't pertain to my question. I only want to know if dual students were able to take one of the boards between semesters- for example; I completed my AGPCNP courses but will not graduate until December because I have WHNP hours I have to complete before graduation. I'd like to know how soon the ATT for AANP is released.
  13. Looking for dual students that was able to take one of your board exams before graduation..... please respond I have a couple questions :)
  14. I have not taken boards yet; but have had 2 review courses APEA and Barkley, I've been impressed with both.
  15. mrsC2 so far my Verizon wireless mifi device has worked perfectly. I've had great success with it and am pleased so far!!
