  1. @bostongirl86. Good luck on your decision. I understand the frustration.
  2. I applied to the Fall FNP program and my status still says "applied". They sent out an email stating it can take up to 2 months to get and answer due to computer issues. I remembered I visited their info session in 2008 and they were having issues/program changes, then I visited in 2012 and they were having issues/changes and now I was ready and applied and the issues/changes are still there. I decided to proceed with the acceptance I received from one of the other schools I applied to. Good luck to all who are still waiting on their acceptance letters. I was very disappointed that the trend had not changed over the years...
  3. I also have questions about travel nursing and returning to school for my FNP or WHNP. I have 2 kids and a husband and he thinks it would be a great idea to be a travel nurse locally while in school for my FNP/WHNP at least for 1st year. My concern is that I left the "hospital" nursing 2 years ago and have been doing "community health" and "Office" nursing since then. I'm thinking I might have to return to "hospital" atmosphere again before I took on such an option. Are there any travel nurses with families doing an np program?
  4. CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I am still waiting to hear something. I applied to their WHNP for Fall 2015. How did they notify you-letter, email, or discover drexel site?
  5. Hi, I also plan to get my WHNP. I have applied to Drexel University, University of South Alabama, & University of Cincinatti. And I recently decided to apply to Frontier University so I am currently in a statistics class because mine was taken over 10 years ago and they require the class to have been taken within the past 10 years. I pretty much went to the WHNP website and clicked on a link that opened a spreadsheet list of colleges that offer the WHNP and their contact information. Hope this helps.
  6. I've also thought about the options of WHNP with a post master's certificate in FNP or vice versa depending on which program accepts me...any thoughts anyone?
  7. @queenanneslace,RN- Did you take the statistics course through Frontier or at your local college?
  8. @zmansc,RN-I know, but I graduated nursing school in 2001 and with Frontier you need to have taken statistics within the past year. I don't really want to have to go back and take a class I took already...
  9. @ mommy2anangel,BSN,RN-I would more consider a CNM/FNP dual program if anything, but thanks for the heads up. This gave me an idea.
  10. I have decided to return to school to get my advanced practice degree. I have a women's health & obstetric background. I have applied to WHNP programs and FNP programs for Fall 2015. However, lately I've been contemplating CNM. Anyone else on the fence?
  11. Is Blazernet for Univ. of South Alabama applicants?
  12. Great. Thanks a million!
  13. @IrishlzRN-I was wondering how your work schedule is with the classes. I now work at a multi-specialty md office (mon-Fri) and plan to cut hours once I start a program. I'm thinking it might have been easier if I was still a hosp rn working 3 -12hrs shifts....
  14. @zeus&lincoln-Thank you so much for replying. It helps a lot!!! BTW-when you applied, how soon did you get a response? Also, how is the financial aid process? Vicky
  15. I have already applied to Drexel's Fall 2015 WHNP program. I would like to know if anyone has started the program within the past year and can comment on the program thus far. I live in Central Florida and do not know anyone who has tried the Drexel WHNP online program or even applied for that matter. Thanks.
