Has anyone appied and been accepted into the RN program at DBCC? If so what was your GPA? How were your NET scores?
So let me see if I understand this... You have to sign up for your classes every semester. I thought once you decided on your campus and whether you are in days or nights, that would be your schedule through the entire nursing program? I also thought that the program dictated which classes you are taking each semester?

They register you for your first semester but you are responsible for signing up for classes after that. In a way, they do dictate what you can and can't take, at least for the first two semesters. If I understand correctly, after that, you have a little bit of wiggle room as to which classes you want to take but that may have changed too. You can always switch campuses.
So I went on campus to register - what a trip that was. I got there about 8:15 and it was filled with nursing students complaining about the same problems. Well there was one student there who was TICKED OFF! Apparently some of the other campuses were still being allowed to hand register while they had stopped it on the Daytona campus. She was upset that the class she wanted might be filled before she had a chance to register. I can't say I really blame her. Anyway, after they heard enough of our complaining, they started to hand register us again. I got what I wanted and was out of there in about 20 minutes. Good luck guys!! :redpinkhe
I called at 8am and spoke to someone in the nursing office who said they were working on the problem and to keep checking online for them to clear the error. Then I noticed that some of the classes were already filling up online... but I still couldnt get in?! I called the registration office who said I had to have a manual override done and that would require coming to campus... so off I went. I got there and the registration woman took over 25 minutes to help us register. She definitely did NOT take our urgency seriously. When I signed in there were still 9 spots in Tuckers class and 10 in Wheelers, by the time she keyed in my information Tuckers was filled and Wheelers only had a few spots. I guess I should just count myself lucky that she didn't get the 'stop hand registering' memo.
I hope that next semester this is settled. Although, I think if I can't register at midnight I will be standing at the doors waiting for them to open at 7:50am. Lesson learned... although it sure would be nice if DSC would take into consideration the nursing program more often. For one of its meal-tickets, it sure seems to be treated like the black sheep.
I also called first thing this morning and they were telling us we had to hand register because of the error. You would think that they could over ride this on the phone, but of course not, they have to be so damn complicated. Thankfully I got there about 9:00 and got the clinical and lecture that I wanted, they were still putting them in by hand when we were there.
I agree that you would think that they would take in to consideration the people who need to get these classes. Thankfully I did not end up in NewSymra, but honestly I should have been studying all morning instead of having to drive over there!
