Has anyone appied and been accepted into the RN program at DBCC? If so what was your GPA? How were your NET scores?

I also received my acceptance letter yesterday and have decided to go ahead and join the forum. Maybe I just wanted to make sure I got in before I joined. I am trying to decide on days or nights and am leaning towards nights. Does anyone know what days of the week the first semester January night classes will be meeting? I imagine that the night classes have more students who are in the same boat as I am; career change, older, kids, etc. Glad to be here and the nerves are definitely starting to kick in now.

I guess I'm the night spokesperson :p. I'm looking at the schedule and I don't see the first semester class listed so I'm not sure what your schedule is going to look like. They either haven't decided yet or they don't want you to know until Orientation. (Total side note, hey guys did you know that they are considering changing the books for next semester so basically that list we got for the whole program is no good. So just wait to get your books) Anyway, IF the first semester mirrors 2nd semester schedules then days will have class on Wed and clinicals on Thur and Fri. Nights will have class on Tue and clinicals on Wed and Thur.

This semester, it was going that days was class Tues and clinicals Wed and Thurs (correct me if I'm wrong) and nights had clinicals on Mon and Tues and class on Wed. They are also changing the program from what I was told. January first semester classes will no longer be going to LTC, but will focus on Community Health and clinics, which should be pretty interesting. For you guys starting 1/09, I would love to hear about it.

Anyway, about night classes, I really enjoy it. In my class, there is a pretty good mix but most people are a little older (late 20's to mid 30's) and most of us have kids or jobs or carreer changes or whatever.

That being said, how do you guys think you did on the test? I think it was one of the easier ones so far. I say that, and watch I fail this one. Good luck. :redpinkhe

Thank you. I'm just trying to get my work schedule together and it's hard because if we have to wait until orientation then we only have about 4 weeks to do that. LTC? Is that long term care?

There is going to be a bake sale on November 19, 2008 from 7-3 if you want to let your class know at night. If anyone is interested in bringing anything in.

Also we are trying to get a raffle together for a thanksgiving dinner. So far we got one from heavenly ham and Publix. If you know anyone who would like to donate any services or dinners please let us know. We are trying to raise funds for the nursing association to by christmas presents for handicapped children.

We are going to try and make sure the night class is able to buy raffle tickets which I believe is going to be for a dollar!

If you guys have any idea please let us know! :D

When is your orientation?

Orientation isn't until December 8th. I wish they would post the schedule on line for 1st semester.

I don't know why it is not up there yet! I know they are changing the courses, but I am not sure what the new course numbers are.

So, anyone else impatiently waiting to register for the Spring???

Which campuses are you all trying to get? Any teachers in particular??

I'm trying to get DeLand with Ms. Tucker for lecture & lab... :D
