Anyone applying to UAB MSN program?

Hey just wondering if anyone is applying to UAB's MSN program. I'm applying to their FNP program, but still unsure as to whether or not i'm making the right decision about school choice. I'm specifically wondering about the time commitment. I work full-time and am wondering if I would still be able to keep my full-time job and do the distance learning format full-time as well. Also, cost is a major issue to me as my husband is racking up a gizzion dollars in dental school loans. Any info would be awesome.

Hello, I have applied to the program as well. I am like you anxiously waiting. I just want to call to say something, but I know it wouldn't do any good. I have already been turned down by two schools. Three strikes you're out right? I hope that is not the case. UAB is my first choice. I will be completing my BSN in August; hoping to go right into the program. I don't know what I would do ifdidn't get in. Trying to think positive. Do you think not having my degree would put me behind someone who already holds the degree? That makes me nervous. Will keep you posted. And good luck to all. Anyon from Florida?

Hi all! So I'm also waiting to hear from UAB...I applied for FNP for fall 2011. It is stupidly the only school I applied to, but it is really the only program I want to attend after comparing a lot of them. The wait is killing me too, especially since we will only find out about a month and a half before starting school. Not a whole lot of time to either prepare for school or move on with "plan B." I live in D.C. now and am planning to relocate to Bham for a couple of reasons--But I'm not sure if I still will if I don't get into school. So now it's a waiting game. Anyone who lives in Bham or can offer any info on good places to live, work, etc.--I'd love to hear from you! Good luck to all who are also waiting to hear back, only a few weeks away! :)

Hi Everyone. Update here...I just called UAB's SON and they stated that the committee was SUPPOSED to meet last week to pick the candidates for the Fall 2011 program and they did NOT meet. The lady stated they are meeting at the end of THIS week and that we should then hear in approx 2-3 weeks. I know, not what I wanted to hear either but at least it gives us an idea and we aren't checking the mail like crazy right now expecting something! Let's hope we all got in!

I work full time and had to drop a class, the reading was to much and test q 2 weeks, no other interaction with any but your classmates.. I am enrolled at U SOUTHERN ALA-FNP trying to decide if I will continue..

AND this is just the patho and assessment classes..

So excited waiting has been killing me does any one kno the clinical sites they are contracted in in south florida there list isn't online like USA is or isjust not easy to find anyone have any information of it thanks to all of u guys u have been so helpful Good luck to all

I'm pretty sure we have to find our own clinical placement? At least that's what I've heard? I'm going to be living in the birmingham area but I haven't heard of a list of clinical sites. I'd like to know more info about this too if anyone knows :)
