Anyone applying to Texas Tech's program, specifically the 2nd degree Austin program? What is your work experience? What prereqs have you taken/still need? Volunteering? GPA? Heard anything interesting lately about the program? Let's get to chatting!
Thanks jenny and stacie for the info and the encouragement! I got feedback from EP today and they said that I didn't have enough bedside experience. They also felt, from my interview, that I wouldn't be a good fit for the program due how time consuming it is. I think I made the mistake of mentioning my family, and the fact that they would not be relocating with me to EP. They would be 4 hours away, so I think it made them a little worried that I wouldn't devote myself to this and end up traveling back and forth. I don't know. I'm definitely going to practice those interview questions for the Austin interview!
Maybe the traditional program would be better for me? Has anyone heard anything regarding the difference in either programs?
aqua2303 and alizma, I hope you guys hear from Austin soon!!
@aqua2303 I'm sorry to hear But yes, please do not give up! Keep going and do everything you can to apply to many programs, there are a bunch in Texas. Eventually you will be selected and then everything else will fall into place. It will all be worth it in the end when you are a nurse
I wish you best of luck!

This forum helped me for my interview for the El Paso cohort. https://allnurses.com/general-nursing-student/interview-questions-88629.html A few questions were similar to the ones asked in my interview.
Prepare yourself to answer questions like "Tell me about yourself" "What's your definition of a nurse?" please look at above link and practice! I practiced by video taping myself and looking at myself in the mirror; by doing so you notice things like if you waved your arms too much or if you never smiled.
This helped me a bunch! Once you have those pairs of eyes on you just remember what you practiced.
Like stacienicole said, emphasize your strengths and tie it into to nursing and how you will succeed in school. And it doesn't hurt sending them a thank you email after the interview-so make sure you get their names.
lilochik you can do it!!!
