Any of you wear clothes under your scrubs?

Published

I did that in paramedic school. Frankly, I can't stand scrubs, but that's just me. I like having pockets and a belt. I'm wondering if any of you got to work or clinicals and just slipped them on over your pants, etc. Changing shirts is easy. Just slip it on/off in the parking lot and go in.

I'm with you on the pockets and belts thing but I can't imagine wearing pants under scrubs. I sweat in winter.

I do like long sleeves under a scrub top though.

I think the best uniforms are the NOMEX flight suits. Talk about pockets and functionality (but no belts).

My scrubs have lots of pockets, so they're pretty good in that department. However, I didn't know that I could get scrubs with elastic waistbands when I bought my school scrubs. Drawstring-only scrubs are made for women with hips, definitely not for guys.

I have never seen my fiance without pockets and a belt. When he started wearing scrubs, we found him the cargo pants with elastic bands. He told me they were MUCH for comfortable and served their purpose, he always wore a shirt under his scrub tops too...personal preference, but hey, thought I'd throw that in there.

Plus the advantage of keeping your weight in check what with the BUCKETS of sweat you pour while wearing Nomex. Been there done that! :lol2:

Yeah, I'm the same way. I wear a t-shirt under everything, everyday (with the exception of when I work out) and have done so for probably 15 years now.

That's thinking positively!

I will sweat no matter what, so I don't particularly care about the comfort side of a uniform. I'm a big fan of functionality and coveralls seem pretty functional to me.

Ever try any compression fit Under Armor? The stuff works wonders for me, but then I'm not a heavy sweater. I remebering wearing some shorts and a t-shirt under my clothes helping roof a house last summer.

We finished at about 5:00 pm under full sun exposure and south Arkansas summer temperatures and when we got down this guy named Joe said "Why aren't you sweating?" I said "Two reasons: I don't want to and Under Armor."

Unfortunately Under Armor is flammable so we couldn't wear it under the Nomex. Had to be cotton or wool.

I got scrub pants with tons of pockets and an elastic waist. I wear a t-shirt under my scrub shirt.

Flammable? I figured it'd just shrink wrap on you, lol.

I meant wear it under normal stuff - not anty-inferno wear. :D
