Hi everyone--
Has anyone else out there applied to the UCSF MEPN program? They're supposed to send out letters this month (December) for the interview process. Has anyone gotten a letter yet? Will those that aren't asked to the interview process get a rejection letter now?
Crossing my fingers...!
Hey Maynyunt...I wonder if I met u since there were so few of us...I was at the first interview day. I was...the black one. Just kidding, I think there were two of us... I'm thinking there's like 3 places for our specialty or some ridiculous number. Have you been working in the field at all? I think what got me was my lack of clinic experience...
Is everyone available for a Sunday brunch in the City? On the Embarcadero? Super RAD place. I'm willing to pick up the East bay folk, and I drive a Prius. In fact, i might end up staying in the East Bay Saturday night, just next to Piedmont Ave.
Roll call: shortcake, lananp, sheilanagig, czyja, healthmatters, maynunt, rose.... etc....
C'mon. Let's do it!
I'm down and live in Oakland. Can a future FNP roll???

Sure! I just emailed lananp. Anyone else? Let's say meet there around 10:30? There's this awesome little place called "The Hi-Dive."
It's not Mama's, but it's yummy and they have Mimosas (and everything else). Their breakfast is great!
PM me for a ride msnasMHA (and czyja?)!
C'mon you guys, let's do it!
Hi Birthrevolution,
Thanks for the heads up, I hope it actually works that way...and I will try not to get too excited until I hear from the school. I will post if they actually contact me --I just have no idea how the waitlist works there. It sounds like the decision was tough for you, and I hope you continue along the path --one of the birth centers in CT where I worked was opened and run by a CNM who finished her masters through Frontier...Best of luck to you and thanks for your encouragement.
And Star77, I would love to join you but I work on Sundays, that and I wouldn't want to jinx myself by being premature...but trust me, I am game for some gatherin' if I do get word. Thanks for all the positive thoughts:D...

Alright, it's on.
Sunday. March 16th. 10:30am at the Hi-Dive, on the Embarcadero (end of Bryant St). If you're in the east bay, let's meet at Peets Coffee on Piedmont Ave at 10am, and I'll drive us from there (if you don't like Peets, there's Gaylords and Starbucks on the same st).
If you want to meet at least 3 MEPNs, come. RSVP on here if you can, or PM me, so that I know how many to put at a table and we're nice to the waitress. Yes? Awesome.
We'll do another gathering later, too, I'm sure (looking forward to meeting you Sheilanagig!)

Me too! Definitely post if they contact you!
Yeah, it was a tough decision, I'm feeling good about it though. Thanks for your well wishes, I've heard nothing but good things about Frontier too :) I also like the idea that I could arrange my own clinicals and actually train in a birth center or with a home birth midwife.

I love the hidive! But sorry, I cannot make it. But count me in for the next meeting....
Hello everyone,
I'm a longtime lurker and have enjoyed reading the serial dramedy over the lengthy MEPN application process.
I've been accepted to the Psych/Mental Health specialty and now that I see that social gatherings are brewing, I couldn't refrain from posting any longer.
I live in Oakland and though I can't meet up for brunch tomorrow, would love to join in on future social gatherings. So now that I've come out of the shadows, keep me posted!
Congrats to the acceptees and best of luck to those who are playing the waiting game or will be applying again in the future.

Hey RoseisRose, I know one other oncology specialist who's in- a friend of mine, who is actually a bartender in the City. She's a fantastic, intelligent woman. I just went by and saw her on Wednesday to drink a beer at happy hour.
In fact... maybe we should all... go...???
