Any UCSF Mepn Applicants?

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Published

Hi everyone--

Has anyone else out there applied to the UCSF MEPN program? They're supposed to send out letters this month (December) for the interview process. Has anyone gotten a letter yet? Will those that aren't asked to the interview process get a rejection letter now?

Crossing my fingers...!

I got mine, too. I got an interview!!!

Good luck to everyone. Next stop: interviews!

Hi everyone--

I got my skinny 1-page letter. Well, I'd definitely rather receive the rejection now, than wait and hear in March. I'm surprised, but I also just got a new job that starts Monday running a medical clinic, so maybe I'll turn that into something great without the degree! And of course, it's time to think of other plan B's.

All the best to you two!! That's SO exciting!!!

Got a letter for an interview in the ACNP track. I don't know if I'm relieved or more nervous now. In any case, time to go chat up all the nurses I know. Cheers!

I finally heard as well and I got an interview in the FNP track! Now it's interview time. I feel the same way - not sure if I'm relieved or nervous now.

Sounds like a few of us will be meeting each other on interview day? Anybody former UCSF MEPN interviewees have suggestions?

Great idea, Tia. And congratulations! I'm going to start a new thread re: UCSF MEPN interview advice. Maybe some current/former MEPN students will see it and reply.

Yay! I also received an interview letter for the Nurse Midwifery track. :)

I'd also be interested to hear about other's interview experiences. I know some of the interviews are taking place before mine, so perhaps people could post as they interview?

Good luck!

Hello - I have a question about the interviews (congrats to you all by the way). I am currently living out of the country but I received an email notifying me that a letter of invitation had been mailed (i am hopeful this is a letter inviting me to interview..rather than a letter inviting me to reapply next year!). At any rate, I am going crazy wondering HOW the interviews work since I will need to fly in from out of the country if I am in fact invited to interview. Can anyone tell me..do they give you a time frame to interview? Do you select the time yourself or have they already scheduled the time for you? Any info is appreciated.

Ir -

There is an orientation day January 13th. I am also scheduled to show up on the 18th, for another interview day at another location - i'm not sure if other people have a similar schedule.....

I'm sure that they will take into consideration that you are not local, if you contact them..........

Hi all,

I applied to UCSF MEPN - Adult care and recieved my rejection letter last weekend on Saturday. : (

It's okay though, I am going to go to Johns Hopkins and am excited about moving out of the bay area (it is a great place but I grew up here so a change will be nice.)

Anyone know others who are going into the Acc. prgm. at JHU starting in June?

Good luck to all of you!

I found some helpful info. online regarding UCSF MEPN interviews, for those who are interested:

I don't live near SF and will be flying in for the interview. It looks like people from out of the area get one intensive interview day - I'm supposed to arrive at 8:00am and expect to leave at 4:30pm. A friend of mine living in SF had her interview split over two days instead.

I received my interview letter on the 16th. My second interview will be on the 19th at the Health and Human Services Department in Berkeley. Did anyone else receive an e-mail asking if you want to have current MEPN students contact you about the interviews?

Congratulations to all, best of luck to everyone!
