Hello,
I am taking A&P I, at the present time. Would you recommend taking more than one science course at the same time?
I would like to take:
Fall Semester 07: Microbiology and A&P 2
Spring Semester 08: Chemistry, Nutrition and Human Development Over a Life Span
But I am little worried about the workload. By the way I work full-time.
Or should I take A&P II and Chemistry at the same time, and take Microbiology in the Spring.
Thanks for the advice!

I think it depends on how much time you have to devote to studying. Both classes have alot of information to learn. It can definately be done, but just be prepared not to have alot of time to yourself. Myself- I would not have wanted those 2 classes together.
Best of luck with whatever decision you make

It can be done. I took Anatomy and Micro in the Fall 2004, and Physiology and Pharmacology in the Spring 05. I also worked, but my employer worked around time I needed off for class, studying, etc. It was kinda sorta working full-time. It was hard, but I focused all of my attention on it and pulled off all A's. Chemistry, I have not taken and I would have to take that one separate or with an easy class because chemistry is not my strong point.
Good luck!

i'm taking a 10-wk chemistry class & 5-week lifespan psych together right now in summer school. in the fall i'm taking a&p II and micro... maybe we should start our own little support group because i'm taking it together no matter what. i've got to do it that way so that i can apply for 2008 entry into nursing school. i'm sure it's not ideal, but neither is waiting an extra year to apply. so, i'll be gearing up with my tutors and forging full-speed ahead. let's stay in touch once school begins in the fall...

I took A&P II and Micro at the same time last Fall, and managed to get A's in both. However, I was not working, so I had plenty of time to study. I'm not sure how I would have done with Chemistry instead of both sciences, but Chemistry comes a lot harder for me. I think it can be done as long as you make time to study. Good luck!

The way the nursing program at my school is set up, I will absolutely HAVE to take A&P II AND Micro at the same time. So obviously it can be done and has been done many times before. Not to say that it won't require a lot of work, but I have a feeling that if you weren't up for a substantial amount of work you wouldn't have chosen to be a nurse. ;)Don't worry. Everything will be fine!

i am going to take A&P 2 and microbiology and nutrition in this fall and i know i won't have so much time for all three so i will try to take the A&P 2 in this summer 2 session which is 5 wk course in a community college.
I know a great professor for the class so hopefully i will get some burden out of me this summer
good luck!

i think micro is easier than chem and i am taking micro & chem2 now and had chem1 & a&p1 in spring together... it was ok, got a B+ & an A so it's dependent on if you like chem or not

This is one of the most commonly asked question here, do a search and you will find millions of responses. Its funny too, because only you can tell if its going to be too much, everyone's situation is different.
I took AP 1 and Chem in the fall and then AP 2 and Micro in the spring I got A's in all 4, it was a ton of work, AP 2 and micro was definetely harder, however they overlapped quite a bit for me we did Immunity/lymph system at the sametime we covered it in Micro and my micro teacher taught it so much better then AP so I had a really good handle on it for both classes. I didn't work full time though but i do have 3 kids my schedule was school 4 days a week (saturday was one of the days) so I only really had 1 and 1.5 days of studying that was kid free. I did a lot of work after kids were in bed or very early in the morning, also micro class started at 11am, my kids were in school by 8:30 so I went straight to the library and used that time to study. If your good at squeezing in and scheduling things tight and sticking to it then go for it! If your not and you want your free time to yourself then take it slower. For me I work much better with a full schedule, if I have too much free time I procrastinate.....Also last year burnt me out pretty bad both fall and spring semesters keeping up that pace was really hard but I am done now yay so I say it was worth it.
