I am currently at Miami Dade College fulfilling prerequisites in order to apply for the Nursing program that starts fall 2009. I'd like to be in touch with other career changers who after getting a bachelor's in a non-nursing field decided to pursue the program at Miami Dade College.
Thanks for your interest!
YAY I got in too! I got my nice little packet today for Generic FT. I almost died. LOL. Is your Orientation 7/15 also?
Orientation for the generic program is 7/15, and for the accelerated program, it's 7/12:lol2:. Since I plan to pursue the accelerated program, I'll be attending orientation on 7/12. Also, I was accepted to the Medical Campus.
Yes, I created my ATI account. Also, I scheduled my CPR class, scheduled my background appointment, completed 1 PPD test, started my scholarship package, and going to have my 5-drug panel test done on Thursday. I plan to submit my scholarship package w/ the other required documents on the 12th. I need to get all this done so I can breathe...:redbeathe
pomakyya(whenever i read your username, i think of a panda..) you are on the ball! good for you. all this stuff will take me about 2 more weeks i think. i am going tomorrow to get one of my ppds and i forgot what else. i'm already cpr certified from earlier this year. it was a lot of fun. i think that if you do it at a fire rescue, it will come out cheaper. but i am not sure.
today i turned in my deposit and met a few people who were accepted also. it was nice. :-) it is finally feeling real.
30ncn, thank you for your kind wishes! i hope the best for you also. i know you really love this career or else you would have given up a long time ago. i know your perseverance will come through, and you will achieve and provide for your family as you wish! please don't give up because i am sure that when the craziness begins and i will want to give up, i'll remember how you and a handful of others didn't quit and it will help me keep working hard to achieve this goal! :-) i remember something a sister in my church said last week, and although it had spiritual connotations, i think it is applicable to this situation: "you haven't failed until you've quit".
ON EAGLES WINGS-->Thank you for the kind words I am excited to know that it is possible because YOU guys got in and though it might have taken more than one try it is POSSIBLE and I AM not going to give up ;-) Please come back and keep us posted it's great to hear all the stories and ups and downs or just to say HELLO ;-)
