Any Miami Dade College students going for the acceler. or Generic option fall 2009?

Published

I am currently at Miami Dade College fulfilling prerequisites in order to apply for the Nursing program that starts fall 2009. I'd like to be in touch with other career changers who after getting a bachelor's in a non-nursing field decided to pursue the program at Miami Dade College.

Thanks for your interest!

Thanks everyone.

Now I have 2 do all this paperwork!!!

Hey guys hope all is well .......

Well I finallyl went on the website just to "wander on MDC-Medical Campus" and to my surprise anyone applying now for the nursing program MUST take the TEAS test ..............hmmmmmmmmmmm so not fair someone enlighten me please.

I think this is a result of applicants complaining that many excellent prospective students with 3.2 to 3.6 GPA were being shut out.

I think inserting the TEAS test provides another filter........just because you are a brand new student and only take the nursing requirements with the easy teachers and get a 4.0 GPA.......does that make you a better qualified nursing student than someone who has a 3.4 GPA, but has an AA or a BA degree?

I think being a nurse should involve more than just GPA....they should do interviews and an entrance test.

Just my humble opinion.

Noooo ur totally right it should involve way more than a 4.0 gpa. Let's c what happens with this round of applicants

I think that the teas is only for those applying for Jan. I went to the med campus a few days ago asking the same thing and that's what I told. But if any doubts I suggest you call yourselves :| I have enough classes to take this term and the last thing I want to do is take a test...

I sent an email to an advisor so lets see what answers we get. I am finished with all my pre-reqs (thank GOD) and the LAST LAST thing I want is to have to take a test. Yes I agree the test would level the playing field but start in next year! We will see what happens.

Keep MDC hope alive!

LOL...everybody wants to get in under the radar...:uhoh3:

It is what it is...you won't be the only one...just be happy you have a chance to apply and be considered.

Look at it as practice, because that's what it will be from that point on...the TEAS is just a primer for what's to come...there's no hand-holding once you are in...there is no "dropping the lowest grade"...there's no "extra points"...there's not "extra credit assignment"...the harsh reality sets in.

So, the more tests you can take and practice on...the better prepared you will be....it's just the truth

hello I am back into this crazy wait good luck to everyone

which program you going for Olofin? Good lucks everyone!

generic full time, applying for the 4 time:eek:

Keep hope alive!! I need to actually make my way down there and apply. Besides the degree audit what else do you need to do to formally apply?

The application date line I think is May 1 , just go into the medical campus make the payment for the application and turn it in the advisor's office. That's it, and then you become a maniac:hdvwl: for the next 3 months until they make the decision.
